The Chargers come into this game on a hot streak, but have a crucial injury situation to pay attention to: QB Justin Herbert’s broken left hand. The star QB had surgery on the hand early in the week and subsequently returned to practice, but his dependability on handoffs and snaps will be something to watch closely tonight.
RB Omarion Hampton also returns from injury this week for the first time in over two months. The first-round rookie RB had a small fracture in his ankle, but returned to practice last week and has had no setbacks during that time, and the Chargers activated him.
There has been no word on what his workload will be, but some have surmised that he’ll split work with RB Kimani Vidal, who had several solid performances in Hampton’s absence.
A big matchup in this game could be a battered Eagles’ defensive line versus the Chargers’ offensive line, which has been super banged-up after both star OTs Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt were lost for the season.
