The New York Knicks (49-28) are attempting to secure a top-three seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race as the 2025-26 regular season winds down.

However, the Knicks could be without one of their key pieces, as PF/C Karl-Anthony Towns is dealing with an elbow injury. Will Towns be able to take the court when the Knicks face the Chicago Bulls at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV on Friday?

Let’s take a look at the latest Karl-Anthony Towns injury update for Friday vs. the Bulls, plus some key stats and PrizePicks projections to monitor for Knicks player picks.

Karl-Anthony Towns Injury Update vs. Bulls Tonight

The Knicks listed Towns as questionable for Friday’s game vs. the Bulls as a result of a right elbow injury. Towns had been dealing with right knee soreness last month, but the elbow injury is a new development.

Towns only missed one game over the last month, which came on March 13 vs. the Indiana Pacers.

The Knicks star did suit up for the team’s most recent game vs. the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. In a 130-119 win, Towns scored 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists.

Towns averages 20.1 points, 11.9 rebounds (second in the NBA), and 2.9 assists, while knocking down 36.8% of his shots from beyond the arc.

If Towns can’t take the floor on Friday, who could see an increase in production when it comes to NBA projections?

Karl-Anthony Towns Injury Impact: Which Knicks Players to Target?

With Towns’ status up in the air for Friday’s game, Knicks PG Jalen Brunson could stand to benefit from Towns’ absence.

Brunson continues to be depended upon as one of the Knicks’ top scoring options when Towns has been out of the lineup. In five games without Town this season, the three-time NBA All-Star averaged 24.0 PPG, 6.8 APG, and 4.0 RPG, which are fairly similar to his season-long averages.

However, Brunson has struggled to shoot the ball from beyond the arc in games without his star big man. The Knicks PG has connected on just 14.7% of his shots from deep in five contests without Towns.

Still, there figures to be plenty of volume for Brunson to fill up the stat sheet during Friday’s game. After all, Brunson has averaged 22.8 shot attempts without Towns, an increase from his average of 20.0 field goal attempts per game this season.

According to databallr, Brunson records 31.4 true shot attempts per 100 possessions, ranking in the 96th percentile. Brunson also spends a staggering 45.4% of the time on the ball when he’s on the court.

Over his last five contests, Brunson has averaged 25.0 PPG while connecting on 49.5% of his shots from the field. He’s also topped the 30-point mark on two occasions during that stretch.

Brunson has registered averages of 26.1 PPG, 6.7 APG, and 3.4 RPG, while shooting 37.1% on 3-pointers this season.
