PSG vs. Chelsea Prediction, Pick for Champions League – March 11, 2026

PSG come into Wednesday’s match battling both on the domestic and European front. That’s prevented the typical XI rotation we would see from them this time of season, and injuries are becoming an issue as a result.

Fabien Ruiz will be absent in midfield, while MF Joao Neves will be a match-time decision, but is expected to play. But Vitinha will take his place as the conductor of their rotating midfield, responsible for pinging passes out wide as fullbacks Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes bomb down the wings.

But Vitinha will also push into attack himself. The PSG midfielder has 5 goals in the competition from just 2.87 xG, and, according to Opta he’s taken the fourth-most shots of any player in the competition.

They’ll be thankful to have FW Ousmane Dembele back after his cameo at the weekend in a 3-1 loss to Monaco. His presence between Desire Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia presents one of the most dangerous attacking trios in all of Europe.

But PSG must be mindful not to leave too much space down the flanks, as this Chelsea side are perfectly set up to exploit those areas. Chelsea MF Enzo Fernandez continues to operate in the Number 10 role for the Blues, with Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto flanking him out wide.

FW Estevao would also provide an option down the flank, but appears unlikely to be involved as he nears a return from his hamstring injury. However, they will welcome back LB Marc Cucurella after he returned against Wrexham and Aston Villa.

Joao Pedro is making a strong case to be the striker for Brazil come the World Cup, and he’s in stellar form. The Chelsea forward has 6 goals and an assist in his last five matches in all competitions. That includes a goal in just 36 minutes against Wrexham at the weekend in Chelsea’s 4-2 win in the FA Cup.

The Blues look like they’re figuring things out under manager Liam Rosenior, and they’ve gone 5-2-2 in their last nine matches. Their free-flowing attack looks to move the ball up the pitch quickly after gaining possession. This could force Luis Enrique to rein in his attacking fullbacks a bit, lest PSG get blitzed on the counter.

Chelsea have done a great job defending their goal in this competition. They’re allowing just 8.38 shots per match, the fewest of any club, with just 3.13 on target per contest.

Success in this match may boil down to which side can handle pressure the best. Passes per defensive action (PPDA) is a metric that measures how quickly teams pressure the ball and win it back. PSG leads all teams in the competition in PPDA, per Opta, while Chelsea ranks fourth.

It will be important for Chelsea to handle that pressure. Only Bayern Munich has turned more forced turnovers into goals per match than PSG, and they’re averaging nearly 11 such takeaways per match.
