Cowboys QB Dak Prescott: 0.5 Passing Yards (Max Discount)

PrizePicks is offering a promo on Dak Prescott's passing yards for the 2025 NFL Kickoff. His pass yard projection is set at 0.5 pass yards; his standard projection is 248.5 pass yards.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott returns from a season-ending hamstring injury gets a new weapon this year in former Steelers WR George Pickens.

Dak has historically had success against this Eagles defense. In his last four games against the Eagles, Prescott has thrown for more than 270 yards each time, peaking at 374 yards in 2023.

The Eagles secondary is also undergoing major changes. Veteran corner Darius Slay is gone, and the team will be starting a new safety in Sydney Brown, who has limited NFL experience.

Opposite him is newcomer cornerback Adoree’ Jackson, who struggled in preseason coverage and should mostly face off against Pickens. It’s a young and vulnerable unit that Prescott is in position to exploit, so long as his new pieces on the offensive line give him the time to do so.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley: 95.5 Rushing Yards

The Eagles one of best offensive lines in the NFL in 2024 and will look to reclaim that title in 2025. The Eagles ranked sixth in run blocking last year, via PFF; meanwhile the Cowboys were the 29th worst run defense by success rate allowed (44.5%).

The Dallas Cowboys will take on a new linebacking duo in starting a new linebacker Kenneth Murray — one of the league’s worst against the run last year, ranking 85th out of 86 linebackers in run-stop grade, per PFF. Lining up next to him is Marist Liufau, who wasn’t much better, ranking 75th out of 86 via PFF.

Saquon Barkley enters 2025 as last season’s Player of the Year. Despite leading the league with 345 carries, he still ranked second in yards per attempt at 5.8 showing just how dominant his 2024 campaign truly was.

At home last season, Barkley routinely surpassed the 100-yard mark, averaging 117.6 rushing yards per game. In his last appearance against the Cowboys, Barkley exploded for 167 rushing yards.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley Projection: 2 Receptions

Saquon Barkley Projections vs. Cowboys

Saquon Barkley hauled in at least 2 receptions in 15 of 20 games last season, including his last matchup against the Cowboys, where he caught 2 passes for 7 yards.

Since the 2021 season, Barkley has more than 2 receptions in 5 of his last 7 games vs. Dallas, as they have struggled to hold him in check both in the air and on the ground — whether he's with the Giants or the Eagles.

At home, Barkley has been even more consistent as a pass catcher. He’s finished with 2 or more receptions in 10 of his last 12 home games, proving to be a consistent check-down for Hurts.

Early-season game plans often lead to conservative play calls, with coaches opting for safe, low-risk plays to settle in their quarterbacks. Barkley averaged nearly 3 targets per game last season, and should still see some play-action involvement.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert Projection: 37.5 Receiving Yards

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert dealt with injuries last season, playing in only 10 games, but he ended the year on a hot streak logging 55, 75, 56, and 85 receiving yards in the last four games.

Across his last five games, he averaged 54 yards and saw more than five targets per contest.

With the Eagles run game likely commanding most of Dallas’ defensive attention to stop Barkley, Goedert could continue to benefit from soft coverage.

Cowboys LBs Murray and Maurice Lee are both poor in pass coverage, making them a likely mismatch. Goedert ranked 10th out of 53 qualified tight ends in receiving last year via PFF and finished 7th in yards per reception (11.8).

Make Cowboys vs. Eagles Picks on PrizePicks

The Cowboys vs. Eagles game on Thursday Night Football in Week 1 gets the 2025 NFL season started with a huge rivalry game on NBC.

For the Cowboys to hang with the Eagles in the season opener with a new coach, they'll need to limit Saquon Barkley with their new-look defense and find holes in the shutdown Eagles' secondary.
