Bengals WR Tee Higgins suffered a concussion in the Bengals’ 26-20 Week 12 loss to the New England Patriots. With Cincinnati on a short week for Thanksgiving, Higgins wasn’t able to clear concussion protocol and had to miss this year’s Thanksgiving win vs. the Ravens, 32-14.
The win was their biggest of the season, 32-14, as Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s return stabilized the offense. Burrow lled eight scoring drives and finished with 261 passing yards and 2 TDs.
This week, the Bengals could get Tee Higgins back in the lineup as they make one last playoff push. With that said, let’s get the latest Tee Higgins’ injury update to see if he'll play this week, and look at the stats and PrizePicks projections for the rest of the Bengals’ offense, including WR Ja’Marr Chase.
Tee Higgins Injury Status: Will Higgins Play This Week vs. Bills?
As of Monday, Tee Higgins remains in the concussion protocol but is progressing. Head coach Zac Taylor stated that Higgins is “doing well” and is in “great spirits” as he works through protocol. The Bengals play the Bills on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
The veteran wideout has a couple more days to clear the protocol and get ready for a big-time matchup against the Bills on Sunday. With a must-win game looming to keep the Bengals alive, Higgins will push to be available and help Cincinnati chase a Week 14 win.
Bengals Fantasy Football Outlook if Tee Higgins is Out Week 14
On Thanksgiving, Chase returned from a one-game suspension for spitting on Steelers CB Jalen Ramsey. He led the team catching 7-of-14 targets for 110 yards vs. the Ravens. It was WR Mitchell Tinsley and RB Chase Brown who emerged as Burrow’s favorite targets aside from Chase, combining for 16 targets.
If Higgins remains out for this critical matchup against the Bills on Sunday, the Bengals’ WR depth chart would likely look like this:
- WR1 - Ja’Marr Chase
- WR2 - Mitchell Tinsley
- WR3 - Andrei Iosivas
- WR4 - Charlie Jones
With Higgins still questionable for Sunday, Cincinnati would continue to feature Chase as the clear focal point of the passing game if he not cleared. In 14 games without Higgins in the lineup, Chase has averaged 6.1 receptions, 83.1 yards, and 0.8 TDs per game.
