NFL Week 4 Storylines

Mike McDaniels and Miami Dolphins Rolling

In just his second year as a head coach, Mike McDaniel is already putting up historic numbers and putting fear into opponents across the league with Tua and this fast-paced offense. Last week against Denver who has a Super Bowl champion at QB and head coach, McDaniel’s offense put up 70 points. Just 2 shy of the single game record of 72.

This week the Dolphins take on a division rival in Buffalo, which should prove more difficult than the bleeding Broncos. Critics of McDaniels will be watching closely to see how he handles Josh Allen and crew in a game that will shape the early playoff picture in the AFC.

Cowboys Crumble

After weeks 1 and 2, Dallas fans across the country were just about ready to crown their Cowboys as Super Bowl champions. Week 3 against an embarrassing Cardinals team pretty much crushed all of those hopes already.

The Cowboys already have questions about Dak Prescott’s ability to perform and lead, and now they’ve shown that they might have weaknesses from top to bottom. We won’t overreact (too much) but the Cowboys will need to impress this week if they want to keep the “fraud” labels off their backs.

Lions vs Packers Week 4 TNF Preview and DFS Projections

Jordan Love silenced a lot of haters in Week 3 against the Saints. The Packers went down big early in the game against a true Super Bowl contender before mounting an incredible comeback to win the game in the last seconds as the Saints missed a field goal.

This week, the Packers take on Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions in a hot division matchup. With both teams at 2-1 on the season, this will definitely begin to influence the playoff picture. The Lions beat the defending Super Bowl champ Chiefs in Week 1 before falling to a shaky Seahawks team. Jared Goff and company will be hungry to take a division lead early this season.

Receiving Yards

Amon-Ra St. Brown - WR, DET

It’s been a great start to the season across the board for the Lions. But Amon-Ra St. Brown has been especially impactful for the early success so far. In Week 1, he put up just over 70 yards against the Chiefs before back to back 102 performances.

This week he faces the Packers and could lead his team to not just a victory, but also an early hold on the NFC North.

Pass Yards

Jordan Love  - QB, GB

Love sat behind future HOF-er Aaron Rodgers for several years before making his true stating debut this season. Studying from one of the best clearly helped the young QB. in Week 1, he stomped on the Bears and threw for nearly 250 yards. After a shaky Week 2, he put up a serious comeback in Week 3 against the Saints and threw for 259 yards.

Against an NFC North rival this week, Love has a chance to instill hope in Green Bay for years to come if he can deliver. He’s averaging just under 220 YPG and is projected to throw 232.5. If he can light it up in Detroit, the Packers might continue to run this division.

NFL Week 4 DFS Projections

Receiving Yards

Tyreek Hill - WR, MIA

Tua and Mike McDaniels have led the headlines in Miami during this historic early season run. But Tyreek Hill has been incredible through 3 games.

This week he’s projected at 95.5 receiving yards, well below his average of 137 on the season. After 157 last week and over 200 in Week 1, don’t be surprised on Tyreek blows the top off against Buffalo this week.

Travis Kelce - TE, KC

You already know the headlines, you literally can’t avoid them on social media. Travis Kelce is officially dating Taylor Swift. She caught his game in Arrowhead last week next to Momma Kelce while Travis was catching dimes all day from Mahomes.

This week Kelce faces the weak Jets and is projected at 68.5 yards. If he puts up another solid performance this week, Taylor and Travis might just be a better Love Story than Travis and Mahomes.

Week 4 MNF DFS Projections

Rush Yards

Daniel Jones - QB, NYG

It’s been anything but a smooth start for Daniel Jones and the New York Giants this season. In 2022 they exited the season with high hopes for 2023. After a brutal 40-0 Week 1 loss to the Cowboys, they met a rude awakening.

This Monday they take on the Seattle Seahawks and a chance to right the ship while there’s still time. Though his arm talent isn’t always the best, look for Jones to make an impact with his legs if he gets a chance.

Pass Yards

Geno Smith - QB, SEA

Sometimes it’s hard to believe Geno Smith is still in the NFL. But then he has back to back weeks with 290+ yards passing and we’re reminded that performance trumps everything.

Averaging 245 passing yards so far this season, Geno is now projected at 253.5 against the Giants on Monday Night Football. With a tough NFC West, the Seahawks need to come out with a win in Week 4 to keep any sort of hopes alive and Geno will have to lead that charge.
