Things are about to get spooky. September football is over and October football begins with Week 5 tonight, as the Bucs take on the Falcons on Thursday Night Football.

Primetime games are supposed to be heavy-hitting showdowns — best of the best going face to face to see who can perform under the brightest of lights. This week, the NFL has blessed us with some solid primetime matchups.

The best touchdown scorer predictions for Week 5 are made up of potential primetime stars. These players should have multiple opportunities to score; their teams will expect them to show up big and so should you.

Check out this week’s best touchdown scorer predictions below, then head to the full board on PrizePicks to lock in your Lineup. Still need more help with this week’s NFL slate? Our First Look into Week 5 should help, lock in today.

Week 5 Touchdown Scorer Picks

All of the touchdown scorer picks for Week 5 are demon picks on PrizePicks, which means you’ll receive a payout boost in your Lineup if they’re included.

Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin: Rush+Rec TD Scorer (Demon)

Date: Thursday, October 3, 2024

Time: 8:15 p.m. ET Kickoff

Location: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Ga.

TV: Prime Video

This season, Baker Mayfield has slightly favored Chris Godwin over Mike Evans, with Godwin having 27 receptions on 34 targets, compared to Evans’ 18 catches on 29 targets.

I don’t expect this to change much in tonight’s primetime matchup against the Falcons. The Buccaneers can expect standout cornerback A.J. Terrell to stay glued to Mike Evans, with the help of safeties Jessie Bates III and Justin Simmons.

This will leave Godwin to be covered by Falcons’ cornerback Dee Alford in the slot. Alford is a familiar face for Godwin, as he’s guarded him in previous matchups and played well. Godwin totaled 23 targets in the two matchups against the Falcons last year, though he didn’t score a TD in either game.

This isn’t a cake walk by any means, but Godwin is one of the best touchdown scorer predictions this week. Alford has given up two touchdowns in coverage this year on 25 targets. Godwin already has three touchdowns on the season and should be Mayfield’s primary target.

If you’re still unsure or just not familiar with his game, check out his Week 2 highlights against one of the best secondaries in the league.

Note: Demon picks add a payout boost to your lineup on PrizePicks, as they are more difficult projections to hit.

Steelers QB Justin Fields: Rush+Rec TD Scorer (Demon)

Date: Sunday, October 6, 2024

Time: 8:20 p.m. ET Kickoff

Location: Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, Pa.

TV: NBC, Peacock

This week, the Steelers, who have a top 10 rushing offense, take on the Dallas Cowboys, a team that is top 10 in rushing yards allowed.

The Cowboys will be without defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence here. Plus, Micah Parsons is currently questionable with a high-ankle sprain, and the Cowboys are planning to play without him.

This gives a big boost to the Steelers running game who are already facing the 31st-ranked team in rush defense EPA, per rbsdm. QB Justin Fields and the Steelers’ running backs basically split red zone carries, giving Fields a good opportunity to see the end zone.

Fields isn’t the safest pick but he is one of the best touchdown scorer predictions, and he is currently a demon on the PrizePicks board. He has all of the Steelers’ rushing touchdowns this season, even scoring two in one game, expect him to add to that Sunday night.

Note: Demon picks add a payout boost to your lineup on PrizePicks, as they are more difficult projections to hit.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce: Rush+Rec TD Scorer (Demon)

Date: Monday, October 7, 2024

Time: 8:15 p.m. ET Kickoff

Location: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Mo.

TV: ESPN

We’re five weeks into the season and this is the first time Travis Kelce has made this list — it’s crazy how times have changed. A year or two ago, Kelce would have been the best touchdown scorer prediction on any given Sunday.

This year, you’ve got to pick and choose your battles, as Kelce has yet to score a touchdown and just doesn’t look as spectacular as he used to. Even though the Chiefs are undefeated, they have still yet to debut that dominant Mahomes-Kelce connection we’ve become accustomed to over the years.

Last week Kelce almost looked like his normal self, bringing in seven catches for 89 yards but still no touchdown, as he was heavily targeted after the Rashee Rice injury. His first score may come out of necessity this week, as Rice, WR Marquise Brown, and RB Isaiah Pacheco remain out of the lineup.

The Saints have been questionable in tight end matchups, as they gave up 10 receptions and 170 yards to Dallas Goedert in Week 3. I expect Andy Reid and the Chiefs to fully exploit this on Monday night.

I don’t know about beating the washed allegations, but Kelce should find the end zone for the first time this season against the Saints.

Note: Demon picks add a payout boost to your lineup on PrizePicks, as they are more difficult projections to hit.
