Commanders WR Stefon Diggs celebrates following a score vs. the 49ers.

We’ll be missing some significant wide receivers because of byes in Week 8. Giants WR Malik Nabers, Texans WR Nico Collins, and Saints WR Chris Olave all have the week off, thinning out the position for fantasy football purposes.

As we continue to adjust to bye weeks and injuries, let's highlight some NFL Week 8 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em candidates for the WR position, including picks to consider on PrizePicks for DJ Moore, Stefon Diggs, and more. Keep this analysis in mind when making your Week 8 fantasy football decisions.

Start: Bills WR DJ Moore

Game: Ravens vs Bills – Sunday, November 1, 1:00 p.m. ET

Projections via PrizePicks: 55.5 Receiving Yards, 3.5 Receptions (Goblin), 11.5 Fantasy Score

Moore sat out the Bills’ last two games because of a shoulder injury. They had a bye in Week 7, which gave him even more time to heal. He was a limited participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday, putting him in line to retake the field in Week 8.

Moore had a stellar debut for the Bills in Week 1 when he torched the Texans for 5 receptions, 100 yards, and 1 TD. Despite him battling injury from that point on, he has an average depth of target of 15.9 yards, per PFF. It helps to have arguably the best quarterback in the league in Josh Allen throwing him passes.

The veteran wide receiver’s return comes at an opportune time with a matchup against the Ravens on tap. According to RBSDM, Baltimore ranks 18th in dropback EPA/play allowed. Per RotoWire, their 9.28 yards allowed per target to wide receivers is the fourth-highest mark in the league.

In what could be a high-scoring game between two teams that allow a combined 52.4 points per game, Moore has an opportunity to thrive.

Start: Commanders WR Stefon Diggs

Game: Eagles vs. Commanders – Sunday, November 1, 8:20 p.m. ET

Projections via PrizePicks: 42.5 Receiving Yards, 3.5 Receptions (Goblin), 10.5 Fantasy Score

The Commanders made it official Wednesday, placing WR Terry McLaurin (knee) on IR. He is out for the remainder of the season with a torn patellar tendon, leaving the WR1 job in the hands of Diggs.

Behind Diggs on the depth chart is an underwhelming list of options, including WR Antonio Williams, WR Treylon Burks, and WR Dyami Brown.

Diggs hasn’t surpassed 55 receiving yards in any of his five games. Not helping his cause is a 9.3 aDOT. McLaurin’s aDOT was 13.2 yards, so there’s the potential that Diggs sees more deep passes thrown his way. A positive for the former Bill is that he has 4 TDs and has been targeted at least 6 times in all five of his games.

The Eagles have allowed 9 TDs to wide receivers, which is tied for the third-most in the league. They also give up 8.42 yards per target to the position, which ranks 21st. Add that to Philadelphia ranked 27th in dropback EPA/play allowed, and Diggs has the potential to provide a valuable stat line.

Sit: Bears WR Rome Odunze

Game: Bears vs. Seahawks – Monday, November 2, 8:15 p.m. ET

Projections via PrizePicks: 42.5 Receiving Yards, 2.5 Receptions (Goblin), 9 Fantasy Score

In the Bears’ 30-24 win over the Patriots last week, Odunze recorded 4 receptions for 69 yards. It was his second-highest yardage total of the season despite his aDOT being 13.9 yards. He was also used as a deep threat last season, given his aDOT of 14.5 yards.

Even with the Bears looking his way downfield, he is still searching for his first TD of the season.

Chicago averages 25.7 points per game, so getting into the end zone hasn’t been a problem. The issue for Odunze is that the Bears don’t usually look his way when they get close, giving him a total of 5 targets inside the red zone.

The Seahawks have allowed only 4 TDs to wide receivers this year, and they are third in dropback EPA/play allowed. Another disappointing stat line could be in the cards for Chicago’s former first-round pick.

Add Rome Odunze to your PrizePicks lineup now.

Sit: Lions WR Jameson Williams

Game: Vikings vs. Lions – Sunday, November 1, 1:00 p.m. ET

Projections via PrizePicks: 51.5 Receiving Yards, 2.5 Receptions (Goblin), 0.5 Anytime TDs (Demon)

Benching Williams seems risky on the surface. He is one of the best deep threats in the NFL, posting an aDOT of 15.8 yards. He also plays within a potent offense that averages 30.7 points per game. However, he has a modest 17.4% target share, which makes him a bit of a boom-or-bust option.

Williams has back-to-back games with 2 TDs each. Prior to that, he didn’t reach the end zone in any of the first four games. He also has four games with fewer than 50 receiving yards.

The Lions will have their hands full with the Vikings, who give up just 12.3 points per game. They limited wide receivers to 3 TDs over their six games, and they have allowed 59 total receptions to the position.

Only the Dolphins (56) have allowed fewer catches to wideouts. This might end up being one of those bust stat line weeks for Williams.

Add Jameson Williams to your PrizePicks lineup now.

Moore seems primed to return from a shoulder injury in what could be a high-scoring matchup with the Ravens. Diggs should have more targets thrown his way with McLaurin out for the season, leaving him with added upside versus the Eagles.

On the negative side of things, Odunze and Williams have the potential to struggle in difficult matchups.
