Even with starting QB Caleb Williams missing three games to injury, the Bears come into Monday averaging the third-most YPG (390.7), and they've scored 30+ points in back-to-back weeks with him under center.
In their Week 7 win over New England, Williams completed 22 of 33 passes for 308 yards and 2 TDs, giving him two straight games with 300+ passing yards. WR Luther Burden did a good chunk of the damage, hauling in 4 receptions for 130 yards and a TD.
This season, Williams is averaging the fifth-most adjusted passing YPA (8.7), and he’s fifth in adjusted EPA/play (0.269), per RBSDM.
The Bears’ offense is generally healthy, though it'll be without RB Kyle Monangai again, which may leave RB D’Andre Swift with a hefty role tonight. Last week with Monangai sidelined, Swift rushed 22 times for 78 yards and a TD while adding 4 receptions for 12 yards.
Chicago’s defense is ninth in both PPG (20.4) and YPG (313.4), but that has more to do with the offense dominating time of possession. The Bears have a league-high 59.2% TOP percentage, leading to the defense facing the fewest plays per game (50.1).
In fact, the D allows the NFL’s most yards per play (6.3), so it's potentially vulnerable if the offense has an off night. It makes sense that the Bears made the move for Simmons to improve this group.
The Seahawks’ offense is a respectable 11th in PPG (24.0) and 12th in YPG (343.3), but turnovers have been a notable issue for QB Sam Darnold. He's thrown an INT in all five of his complete games this season and has tossed up 2 INTs three times.
Darnold was serviceable in last week’s victory over the Chiefs, completing 20 of 28 passes for 257 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT. As usual, he relied heavily on star WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who caught 9 of 12 targets for 150 yards and a TD.
Seattle’s run game has struggled at times due in part to injuries, but it could be back at full strength on Monday with both RB Zach Charbonnet and RB Jadarian Price no longer having game designations. It’s unclear if Price will be activated off injured reserve, but Charbonnet is expected to make his 2026 debut.
The addition of Nelson should further give this rushing attack a boost, as the offensive line is just 27th in run block win rate, per ESPN. Of course, the true strength of this team is its stellar defense, which is third in PPG (17.9) and first in YPG (233.9). It's also first in defensive DVOA, according to FTN.
This game could boil down to a strength versus strength battle between Chicago’s offense and Seattle’s defense.
