Round 1, Pick 1: Las Vegas Raiders – Fernando Mendoza, QB

The NFL’s worst-kept secret is finally out. Off a Heisman Trophy campaign, Fernando Mendoza is widely considered the best quarterback in the draft. He’ll eventually unseat Kirk Cousins as Las Vegas’ new franchise quarterback, and it’s hard to think the 6’5”, accurate passer won’t succeed after a storybook season at Indiana.

Raiders First Round Draft Grade: A-

Written by Austin Swaim

Round 1, Pick 2: New York Jets – David Bailey, EDGE

Following much debate, the New York Jets opted for David Bailey with the No. 2 overall pick.

Bailey was the most productive edge rusher of the class with 14.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss in the 2025 season. His elite speed, proven by his 4.5 40-yard dash, and explosive first step should aid the Jets, who finished 29th in sack rate last season.

Jets First Round Draft Grade: A-

Round 1, Pick 3: Arizona Cardinals – Jeremiyah Love, RB

Don’t get it twisted; Jeremiyah Love is probably the best individual player in the draft. However, in a running back room filled with Tyler Allgeier, Trey Benson, and James Conner, it’s a head-scratcher to take a running back as a team that went 3-14 a year ago. No trade manifesting here has to be super disappointing for Cardinals fans.

Cardinals First Round Draft Grade: C

Written by Austin Swaim

Round 1, Pick 4: Tennessee Titans – Carnell Tate, WR

No one saw that coming. The Tennessee Titans passed on some of the best defensive players in the class, selecting WR Carnell Tate with the No. 4 overall pick as the draft's first massive surprise.

Tate brings reliable hands and smooth route-running with WR1 potential. Titans QB Cam Ward has his new best friend, but was it wise of Tennessee to ignore its struggles in the trenches?

Titans First Round Draft Grade: C-

{{nfl_offer_banner="/style-system/ui-components-playbook"}}

Round 1, Pick 5: New York Giants  – Arvell Reese, EDGE/LB

This is good value for a hyper-athletic hybrid, Arvell Reese, at No. 5, but the Giants are stacked at EDGE between Abdul Carter, Brian Burns, and Kayvon Thibodeaux. This selection was a shocker.

It’s a valuable position, but it makes you wonder if Big Blue is considering flipping Thibodeaux for a pick tomorrow night.

Giants First Round Draft Grade: C+

Round 1, Pick 6: Kansas City Chiefs (via trade with Browns) – CB Mansoor Delane

All week leading into the first round, the Kansas City Chiefs name kept popping up as a potential trade candidate to move up from No. 9. Now we know why, as they give up a third-round and fifth-round pick to move up three spots to draft the surefire top cornerback in this class in Mansoor Delane.

The unanimous All-American allowed just a 31.3 opponent passer rating in 2025, and will step into Kansas City with the talent to be a day-one starter. This was the Chiefs’ most urgently needed position, as the Chiefs lost CB Trent McDuffie, CB Jaylen Watson, and S Bryan Cook in free agency.

Chiefs First Round Draft Grade: B

— Written by Christian Hardy

Round 1, Pick 7: Washington Commanders – Sonny Styles, LB

The first round of the draft unfolded perfectly for the Washington Commanders. Sonny Styles fell right into their lap at No. 7 overall as the best linebacker — and perhaps the best athlete — of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Washington let LB Bobby Wagner walk in free agency and found a direct replacement in Styles, who brings excellent versatility at 6’5” and 244 pounds.

Commanders First Round Draft Grade: A

— Written by Riley Thomas

Round 1, Pick 8: New Orleans Saints  – Jordyn Tyson, WR

Tyler Shough’s strong ending to the 2025 season made getting him additional receiving help a must. New Orleans must feel confident in Jordyn Tyson’s medical history to select him in the top 10. Tyson glides out of his breaks with a great feel for the sideline and can line up all over the formation. He just needs to stay healthy.

Saints First Round Draft Grade: B

Written by Austin Swaim

Round 1, Pick 9: Cleveland Browns (via trade with Chiefs) – Spencer Fano, OT

We heard smoke of the Cleveland Browns targeting Spencer Fano ahead of draft night. Cleveland traded back three spots and still got its guy.

Fano is arguably the most athletic offensive lineman of the class, bringing versatility with his experience playing both tackle spots at Utah. After finishing 25th in sack rate allowed, the Browns got a much-needed upgrade to their pass protection, and Fano’s mobility could bring interesting wrinkles to the run game.

Browns First Round Draft Grade: B+

— Written by Riley Thomas

Round 1, Pick 10: New York Giants – Francis Mauigoa, OT

This is a bit of a stunner from the Giants, who re-signed Jermaine Eluemenor at right tackle this offseason. However, Francis Mauigoa is a mauler that some evaluators think might be an even better fit at guard, where the G-Men have a hole. It’s no surprise they spent one of these top-35 picks on someone to help protect Jaxson Dart.

Giants First Round Draft Grade: B+

Written by Austin Swaim

{{nfl_offer_banner="/style-system/ui-components-playbook"}}

Round 1, Pick 11: Dallas Cowboys (via trade with Miami Dolphins) – Caleb Downs, S

The Cowboys were consistently tabbed as a trade candidate for weeks, and Jerry Jones came through, moving up one pick to snag the No. 11 overall selection. Dallas selected Caleb Downs, potentially the top defensive back of the 2026 class.

After allowing 30.1 points per game last season (32nd), the Cowboys needed defense. Downs should rejuvenate an aging safety room, giving Dallas a defensive general.

Written by Riley Thomas

Round 1, Pick 12: Miami Dolphins – Kadyn Proctor, OT

The Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley era starts with a cornerstone left tackle. Kadyn Proctor is a 6’7” mountain with a devastating anchor. Inconsistencies exist in his tape, and he’s battled weight issues in the past, but it’s not hard to justify the Dolphins betting on movement skills that are unusual for a man his size.

Dolphins First Round Draft Grade: A

Written by Austin Swaim

Round 1, Pick 13: Los Angeles Rams – Ty Simpson, QB

The Los Angeles Rams get their quarterback of the future in Ty Simpson, who will be expected to take over for 38-year-old Matthew Stafford. Even if the Rams came into this draft knowing they wanted a QB this year, this feels like a big reach, even for the most coveted position in football. Simpson came in at No. 38 on our big board.

There were moments where Simpson impressed at Alabama, and maybe that’s what the Rams are counting on developing. However, the Alabama QB often lacked rhythm and had obvious accuracy issues against top-tier defenses.

Despite the accuracy issues, Simpson’s 14 turnover-worthy plays (only 4 INT) vs. 29 big-time throws, per PFF, are a bright spot. Too many question marks to be a top 15 pick.

Rams First Round Draft Grade: D

Written by Christian Hardy

Round 1, Pick 14: Baltimore Ravens – Olaivavega Ioane, IOL

The Ravens landed a bulldozer in the run game, as Olaivavega Ioane stands at 6’4” and 320 pounds. He finished third in our offensive line rankings and as the top guard of the 2026 class. After leading the NFL with 5.3 yards per carry in 2025 behind Derrick Henry, the rich just got richer with an elite interior offensive line talent.

Round 1, Pick 15: Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Rueben Bain Jr., EDGE

Tampa Bay entered the night with a massive need at EDGE, and the board fell their way. Coming off a 9.5-sack season at Miami, Rueben Bain Jr. was a top-five pick in the draft before February’s combine, when a disappointing measurement for arm length (30 ⅞”) tanked his stock.

Bain Jr. is an ideal fit in Todd Bowles’ scheme as a designated rusher.

Buccaneers First Round Draft Grade: A+

Written by Austin Swaim

Round 1, Pick 16: New York Jets – Kenyon Sadiq, TE

Considering the Jets just used the 42nd overall pick on TE Mason Taylor a year ago, this a bit of a shocker. Even as an elite (like, very very elite) prospect and a generational athlete at the position, it’s hard to defend the Jets leaving Garrett Wilson all alone in the WR room.

But I mean, look at the guy. He's an absurd athlete.

Maybe the Jets have a clear plan for how to use the Oregon tight end, as his 4.39 40-yard dash time provides straight-line speed that can challenge any defender. Big fan of the prospect, but not so much of the pick for where the Jets currently are as a team.

Jets First Round Draft Grade: C+

Written by Christian Hardy

Round 1, Pick 17: Detroit Lions – Blake Miller, OT

Thursday morning brought news of the Lions potentially missing out on all their offensive line targets. Detroit was a rumored trade-up candidate due to its need for a starting offensive tackle. Instead, the Lions stayed put and grabbed solid value in Clemson OT Blake Miller.

Miller brings an ideal 6’7”, 317-pound frame, paired with an excellent 9.90 relative athleticism score. Detroit selected exactly what it needed, a replacement for LT Taylor Decker.

Lions First Round Draft Grade: B

Written by Riley Thomas

Round 1, Pick 18: Minnesota Vikings – Caleb Banks, DT

Rumblings that Florida DT Caleb Banks could go in the first round came to fruition.

Minnesota lost Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen earlier in the offseason, so they’re taking a swing for the fences with one of the most athletic guys in the draft. Banks jumped a 32.5” vertical at the combine. This was a need for the Vikings, but it’s a huge risk given that Banks missed most of 2025 and the pre-draft process due to nagging foot injuries.

Vikings First Round Draft Grade: C+

Round 1, Pick 19: Carolina Panthers – Monroe Freeling, OT

The Panthers have struggled to protect QB Bryce Young to this point in his career, and LT Ikem Ekwonu ruptured his patella tendon in the Playoffs. That made this pick a no-brainer, as Freeling should be a direct replacement for Ekwonu until he returns.

After nailing the Tet McMillan pick in 2025, the Panthers get Young some much needed help on the line. Freeling only has 16 career starts, but does have a high-ceiling, though he may be thrown into the fire as a Day 1 starter.

Panthers First Round Draft Grade: B+

— Written by Christian Hardy

Round 1, Pick 20: Philadelphia Eagles (via trade with Dallas Cowboys) – Makai Lemon, WR

The Philadelphia Eagles have done it again. In a rare trade with an NFC East foe — the Dallas Cowboys, who gave up this pick — the Birds moved up from the 23rd pick to the 20th selection to get our top available player on our big board.

Philly nabbed the sliding USC WR Makai Lemon, drafting a potential replacement for A.J. Brown, who is a physical away from being shipped to New England in June. Lemon is an all-around reliable receiver, with good hands, consistent separation, and solid blocking.

Eagles First Round Draft Grade: A

{{nfl_offer_banner="/style-system/ui-components-playbook"}}

Round 1, Pick 21: Pittsburgh Steelers – Max Iheanachor, OT

In less than five years, Arizona State OT Max Iheanachor went from junior college to the first round of the draft. The former soccer player has rare, rare feet and an explosion into his pass set for his size.

Iheanachor’s success against No. 20 overall pick David Bailey boosted his stock, and he was also a star at the Senior Bowl. This helps Pittsburgh quell concerns about Broderick Jones’ health at the tackle position.

Steelers First Round Draft Grade: B

Written by Austin Swaim

Round 1, Pick 22: Los Angeles Chargers — Akheem Mesidor, Miami (FL)

The Chargers fell short of targeting an offensive lineman, so Los Angeles beefed up the defensive line with Miami (FL) EDGE Akheem Mesidor. L.A. finished sixth in sack rate and 16th in pass rush win rate last season, per ESPN. Mesidor was highly productive with 12.5 sacks in the 2025 season. Plus, he’s a win-now pick at 25 years old.

Chargers First Round Grade: C+

— Written by Riley Thomas

Round 1, Pick 23: Dallas Cowboys (via trade with Philadelphia Eagles) – Malachi Lawrence, EDGE

The Cowboys go defense for the second time in the first round, using the pick acquired from the Packers for Micah Parsons (after trading back) to draft UCF pass-rusher Malachi Lawrence.

The Cowboys certainly needed to make improvements on their middling pass rush, which suffered from the Parsons trade. With Downs hopefully shoring up the secondary and an already-strong interior line in run-stopping, getting a pass-rusher here makes sense, though Lawrence may not have been the best available at the position.

Cowboys First Round Grade: B

— Written by Christian Hardy

Round 1, Pick 24: Cleveland Browns  – KC Concepcion, WR

We knew the Browns were going with an offensive tackle and a wide receiver in Round 1. It did not seem like this pick would create a choice of Omar Cooper Jr. and KC Concepcion, and Cleveland went with the latter.

Concepcion was an elite separator at Texas A&M and has the ability to make plays in space, but struggled with drops and contested catches. It feels like the team just added a second Jerry Jeudy instead of a complement to him.

Browns First Round Draft Grade: C-

Written by Austin Swaim

Round 1, Pick 25: Chicago Bears – Dillon Thieneman, S

The Bears enjoy a slide, nabbing Oregon S Dillon Thieneman. Chicago gets an uber-athletic safety with the versatility to play all three safety positions. Thieneman brings solid play recognition with the range to make plays on pass attempts. After the Bears allowed 7.5 yards per passing attempt last season (26th), Thieneman could bring a significant boost to the secondary.

Bears First Round Draft Grade: A

Round 1, Pick 26: Houston Texans (via trade with Buffalo Bills)

The Bills move down two spots and pick up some extra draft capital in this year's draft.

Texans not only reach for a Day 2 guy here, but trade up two spots to do it, after the run on offensive lineman slowed after pick 21. The Texans’ line — which ranked 30th in pass-block win rate and 32nd in the run — can certainly use Rutledge to help protect CJ Stroud.

Rutledge can easily step into a starting role in Houston, as he was a dominant inside anchor at Georgia Tech, winning back-to-back All-ACC honors.

Texans First Round Draft Grade: B

— Written by Christian Hardy

Round 1, Pick 27: Miami Dolphins (via trade with San Francisco 49ers) – Chris Johnson, CB

Miami leaped up three spots in front of the Bills to ensure they got the cornerback they wanted. San Diego State’s Chris Johnson is 6’1” and ran a blazing 4.40-second 40-yard dash. He had 4 interceptions and 8 passes defended last season and has tremendous coordination and awareness when the ball is on target. Rumors had Johnson sneaking into the late first, and he adds much-needed help to the Dolphins’ secondary.

Dolphins First Round Draft Grade: B-

— Written by Austin Swaim

Round 1, Pick 28: New England Patriots (via trade with Buffalo Bills, via Texans) – Caleb Lomu, OT

The biggest storyline for the Patriots in the immediate reactions to their Super Bowl loss were their issues on the offensive line, specifically the embarrassing performance from first-round rookie LT Will Campbell, who was thrashed for 14 QB pressures (not a typo).

The Patriots address that exact need, drafting another tackle in the first round with 6’6”, 313-pound Lomu, a pass-blocking specialist who projects as an NFL starter. Patriots make a move to get their guy to shore up Drake Maye’s pocket.

Patriots First Round Draft Grade: B+

— Written by Christian Hardy

Round 1, Pick 29: Kansas City Chiefs – Peter Woods, DT

This is good value for the Chiefs as they eye the future. Chris Jones won’t be around forever, and Peter Woods has the same sort of explosive first step as a 3-technique with the rare ability to recover and pursue.

Kansas City still has pressing needs at EDGE and wide receiver, and they missed out on a tackle. I like the player, but they’re leaving too many holes through two picks.

Chiefs First Round Draft Grade: C

— Written by Austin Swaim

Round 1, Pick 30: New York Jets (via 49ers) – Omar Cooper Jr., WR

The Jets traded up from the 33rd overall pick in the second round, potentially finding their WR2 in Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. Not only is Cooper good value here, but he also fills a need with his versatility to produce on the perimeter and in the slot. Cooper’s yards after catch may form an exciting duo with Jets WR Garrett Wilson.

Jets First Round Draft Grade: B+

Round 1, Pick 31: Tennessee Titans (via Bills) – Keldic Faulk, EDGE/DE

The Bills move back again and won’t pick in the first round. In return, they’ll move up three spots in the third round, and exchange pick 165 for pick 101.

The Titans made their splash on offense earlier in the draft with Carnell Tate; now they get a versatile pass-rusher in Keldric Faulk, who can play both inside and outside on the defensive line. Faulk has an NFL-ready frame at 6'6", 275 pounds, and is only 20 years old with tons of upside.

This is a great move for the Titans, and they didn't have to give up any picks — only some draft position — to get their guy at the end of Round 2. Faulk has the makings of a guy who can be around in the NFL for a long time if he keeps developing.

Titans First Round Draft Grade: A

Round 1, Pick 32: Seattle Seahawks – Jadarian Price, RB

When Seattle lost Kenneth Walker III to free agency, we knew they would need to address the running back position at some point. It’s sort of stunning that it came in the first round with Jadarian Price, who was efficient at 6.0 yards per carry in limited duty behind Jeremiyah Love at Notre Dame.

He’s an early-down complement to Zach Charbonnet, but the value of this pick is questionable, and Seattle burned its best chance to add to the fewest total of draft picks (4) of any team this year, especially after the frantic shuffling in the back-half of the first round.

Seahawks First Round Draft Grade: D+
