College Football Week 12 Preview

It’s been a crazy season so far in college football and we expect nothing less entering Week 12 as the playoff race heats up. To get you ready for the daily fantasy sports action we put together this CFB Week 12 preview with our top CFB DFS projections.

Last week we saw the absolute powerhouse of Michigan roll into Happy Valley to take on a highly ranked and talented Penn State team. Despite Coach Jim Harbaugh being banned from coaching following a cheating scandal, the Wolverines took care of business and came out with a dub.

Washington made a statement with their close win over a top ranking PAC 12 rival in #16 Utah. Georgia dominated SEC and #13 ranked opponent Ole Miss while Oregon pushed Caleb Williams and USC further down with a clean win.

This week has another great slate of games, even outside the top 25. The SEC and PAC 12 have some killer matchups and the BIG 10 even has a few potential trap games that could shake up the entire playoff outlook.

Top CFB Week 12 DFS Projections

Pass Yards

Michael Penix - QB, WAS

If you haven’t heard of this kid by now, you’ve been living under a rock. His incredible passing and rushing ability has propelled him to be one of the frontrunners in the Heisman race. Week after week he’s posted video game stats against top opponents.

This week he faces 12th ranked Oregon State in a tough slated away game. He’s averaging about 307 YPG in his last 5 games, just shy of his projection of 317 on Saturday. Can Penix keep his Heisman and playoff hopes alive? He’ll need something special this week

Joe Milton - QB, TEN

What started as a season with so much hype and potential has become somewhat of a disappointment for the Vols. Milton’s arm talent was bragged about all offseason after throwing an orange over 100 yards. Unfortunately for Milton, throwing the football has proven much more difficult.

In his last 5, he’s averaging 225 YPG, 15 more than his projection against #1 Georgia. In one of his last 5 he only threw for 100, just shy of the orange. Georgia is likely to attack early and often so this game could be ugly for Milton.

Receiving Yards

Brock Bowers - TE, UGA

Georgia isn’t exactly what it was last year, but tight end Brock Bowers has been nothing short of spectacular for the Bulldogs. With rumors he could be the next Gronk or Travis Kelce, he’s been consistently delivering impact performances in receiving.

Despite an injury, he’s expected to play this week against 18 Tennessee. In his last 5 he’s averaging 93 but only because in his last 2 he went for less than 40 due to an injury. If he’s healthy this week he could have yet another 100+ yard game but that’s a big if and he’s projected just 55.5.

Rush Yards

Dillon Johnson - RB, WAS

It’s been an exciting year for Huskies fans as Michael Penix has been launching an absolute air raid on teams all season, leading them to a perfect 10-0 start. On the ground, Dillon Johnson has been doing his fair share as well.

Through the last 5, he’s averaging about 110 YPG against some of the top ranked schools in the nation. This week he’ll take on #11 Oregon State and is projected to rush for about 85. If he can do what he did to USC 2 weeks ago (rushing for 250+), it could be a tough go for UT but against a conference rival could prove more challenging.
