Tyrese Haliburton Projections for NBA Finals Game 7 - Points + Assists

The major headline of Game 6 was the status of Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, who was a game-time decision after suffering a right calf-strain injury in Game 5.

Haliburton ended up playing and starting, and made a significant impact in the Pacers' dominant 108-91 victory to force Sunday's Game 7. Though Haliburton wasn’t moving at the same speed with the injury, he still managed to score 14 points and dish out five assists, while shooting 5-of-12 from the field and 3-of-7 from 3-point range all in 23 minutes.

Now with another two days of rest and an NBA championship on the line in Game 7, Haliburton will have to find a way to be even more impactful, as the Pacers will be on the road in Oklahoma City. The Pacers have had success on the road throughout the postseason, with a record of 7-4, which is a key factor for their run to the NBA Finals and potentially having the chance to win the title.

In Games 1 and 2 on the road, Haliburton averaged 15.5 points and 6.0 assists, and hit the game-winning shot in Game 1 to give the Pacers both the initial series lead and the momentum against the Thunder.

Across the entire NBA Playoffs, Haliburton has averaged 17.7 points and 9.0 assists — good for 26.7 Pts+Asts. If he's healthy for Game 7, he could return to form and perform closer to his averaged.

Though Haliburton is dealing with a calf injury, Game 7 for the NBA championship is enough motivation for anyone to try and have the best performance possible. For Haliburton, he doesn’t necessarily have to have a high-scoring game since the Pacers have depth on their side.

The defensive end will be key for Haliburton and the Pacers. The Thunder have scored an average of 118.0 points at home, while the Pacers have averaged 108.6 points on the road.
