Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain steers his car during the third free practice for the Spain F1 Grand Prix at the Barcelona Catalunya racetrack in Montmelo, near Barcelona, Spain, Saturday, June 13, 2026.

The Formula 1 British Grand Prix starts on Sunday at 10 a.m. ET, live on Apple TV. The first F1 practice took place on Friday, while the Sprint and qualifying are scheduled for Saturday at Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone, England.

Early British GP predictions are everywhere after Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton snared the Sprint pole, with others struggling on pace and worse. The Sprint qualifying position is not necessarily important to the British Grand Prix, with qualifying still to come.

However, the British driver put people on notice, as Hamilton and his Ferrari have the potential to win the 2026 British Grand Prix, as Hamilton has done so 9 times before.

Could Sunday’s F1 British Grand Prix produce more unexpected results?

Let’s race into our F1 British Grand Prix predictions for Sunday morning’s race, based on Friday’s Sprint qualifying results, including the latest favorites to win, finish on the podium, and more on PrizePicks Team Picks.

F1 British Grand Prix Predictions, Picks After Sprint Qualifying

Kimi Antonelli, Lewis Hamilton, and George Russell were the favorites to take Sprint pole in the British Grand Prix. But Sprint qualifying tilted toward Hamilton at the last possible second.

Hamilton finished 0.011 seconds better than Mercedes’ Antonelli. That could pave the way for a possible 10th Hamilton win at Silverstone, but he still has a long way to go. It will be intriguing to see how much better the Ferraris and Mercedes look compared to last year at Silverstone on race day.

Below, find the full F1 Sprint qualifying results for the British Grand Prix in preparation for the race on Sunday, July 5. This should help in making your F1 predictions on PrizePicks.

Max Verstappen – 3 Finishing Position

Max Verstappen to Win the British GP: Yes 6.25x | No 1.07x

  • Max Verstappen started third in the Sprint on Saturday.
  • The Red Bull driver keeps losing lap time on cornering and power-limiting areas. Practice laps revealed a drop-off in lap times, which was more noticeable in later laps.
  • Red Bull appears concerned about cars behind them. Ferrari and Mercedes are running quicker in recent races.
  • Verstappen’s upgraded car, along with Isack Hadjar's, is still losing tenths of seconds around Stowe’s Corner and the Copse.
  • Verstappen will need a superior pit strategy to overtake the top cars — see the 2024 British GP.

Lando Norris – 5.5 Finishing Position

Lando Norris to finish Top 5 at British Grand Prix: Yes 1.66x | No 1.92x

  • McLaren’s Lando Norris could not crack the Top 5 in Sprint qualifying, settling for sixth, 0.364 seconds behind Russell.
  • Norris won last year’s British Grand Prix but in changeable wet/dry conditions.
  • The 2025 World Champion has a payout to win at 22.22x on PrizePicks
  • Given the brake issues (including a broken brake duct), the McLaren could have further problems during Sunday's race.
  • Norris finished seventh in last week's Austrian Grand Prix, 31 seconds off the lead, and 10 seconds worse than teammate Oscar Piastri.
Add Lando Norris to your F1 Picks on PrizePicks

Nico Hulkenberg – 12.5 Finishing Position

Nico Hulkenberg to Top 10 at British Grand Prix: Yes 2.12x | No 1.56x

  • Hulkenberg can find results at Silverstone, having finished third (started 19th) in 2025 and sixth in 2024.
  • He has nine Top-10 finishes in his previous 10 starts.
  • The Audi was 9th in P1 and seemed to have room for more pace and speed around Sector 3.
  • Hulkenberg has finished 12th or better in 3 of his last 6 races.
  • While the Audi has underperformed at times, the driver should want to atone after qualifying 14th at the Red Bull Ring. He did have a +3-place differential between qualifying and race Sunday in Austria.

The expectation is that the 2026 F1 British Grand Prix will be run under warm conditions over 52 laps. With fewer overtakes expected and breezy weather, there could still be chaos via pit strategy and a yellow flag or two.

Mercedes still ranks 1-2 in the standings, but Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are hunting for big result at Silverstone Circuit on Sunday.
