#1 Miami vs. #11 Notre Dame Prediction on Over/Under for CFB Week 10
Time, How to Watch: 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC
It’s Catholics vs. Convicts. And we’ve got plenty of stakes between national title contenders and Heisman contenders. Plus, Game on Paper has both teams in the top seven of net adjusted EPA per play. What more could you ask for?
PrizePicks gives Notre Dame (5.26x) and Miami (7.69x) the second- and third-shortest payouts to win the national championship, behind Georgia (3.7x). Miami QB Darian Mensah has the second-shortest payout to win the Heisman Trophy (3.03x), closely followed by Notre Dame QB CJ Carr’s third-shortest mark (5.55x).
As you probably guessed, this is loaded with NFL talent, including seven players in the top 50 of NFL Mock Draft Database’s 2027 Consensus Big Board.
We’re being robbed of a potential matchup of Notre Dame CB Leonard Moore, the best corner in college football, against Miami WR Malachi Toney, who is 1B to Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith.
Toney, unfortunately, will be absent and is having surgery for a high ankle sprain with a potential return focused on the College Football Playoff.
The Fighting Irish are already a tough defense to crack, allowing only 13.4 PPG (95th percentile), 4.2 yards per play (95th percentile), and -0.21 adjusted EPA per play (94th percentile). Toney’s absence led to the spread rising a couple of points since Notre Dame already had the home advantage while sitting first nationally in EPA per play compared to Miami at seventh.
Both teams are elite, but Miami’s defense could be a glaring weakness, allowing 5.2 yards per play (68th percentile) and -0.02 adjusted EPA per play (61st percentile). The Hurricanes allow just 2.4 yards per carry (99th percentile), and they are a clear pass funnel by yielding 7.6 yards per passing attempt (41st percentile) and a 46.8% pass success rate (25th percentile).
This is an excellent stage for Carr to make a Heisman push, as he leads an attack with 8.3 yards per passing attempt (83rd percentile) and a 54.8% pass success rate (97th percentile). According to PrizePicks, Carr is projected for 259.5 pass yards on Saturday night.
If Notre Dame is moving the ball, it’s likely to still run it with a 53.80% rush play rate (59th percentile). Keeping the Miami offense off the field is wise; it remains a threat without Toney, as seen by 0.26 adjusted EPA per play (first nationally) and 43.4 PPG.
Despite both teams sitting in the top three nationally of PPG, the pace is something to watch. Notre Dame posts 28.7 seconds per play (13th percentile) and Miami carries 28.4 (20th percentile), meaning both are among the nation’s slowest tempos.
Explosive plays are bound to come down vs. better competition, and each defense averages at least 1.4 turnovers per game and is capable of ending successful drives.

#2 Georgia vs. #10 Ole Miss Prediction on Spread for CFB Week 10
Time, How to Watch: 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC
Ahead of Saturday’s games, #2 Georgia (5-1) and #6 Kentucky (5-1) are tied for first place in the SEC standings. Next up are #5 Alabama (4-2) and #10 Ole Miss (4-2). That reflects SEC championship payouts on PrizePicks: Georgia (2.08x), Alabama (6.66x), LSU (6.66x), Ole Miss (7.14x), and Kentucky (10x).
This puts Ole Miss in a must-win, with LSU, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas all entering the day with only two SEC losses, though that’s to change considering Saturday’s game. But you get the point — the SEC is as competitive as ever.
The Rebels’ College Football Playoff hopes is more important than anything else, sporting a 1.61x payout to qualify, slightly ahead of 2.17x to miss out.
Georgia lost 27-24 vs. Auburn as 19.5-point favorites and bounced back by dismantling Florida 27-8 as 11.5-point favorites. Following a 34-27 loss on the road vs. Texas, Ole Miss stomped Auburn 45-15 as 10.5-point favorites.
Despite last week’s impressive performance, the Rebels have been hit hard by injuries, as RB Kewan Lacy and S Edwin Joseph are out. Plus, EDGE Kam Franklin is questionable, while LB Keaton Thomas and CB Jalyn Crawford are probable.
The defense is already a weakness, allowing 24.0 PPG (62nd percentile), 5.3 yards per play (57th percentile), and -0.06 adjusted EPA per play (64th percentile). A boatload of injuries comes at a bad time vs. a Georgia team averaging 37.9 PPG (94th percentile) and 6.7 yards per play (94th percentile).
The Dawgs have a 55.66% rush play rate (75th percentile), and their RBs are finally getting healthy with Nate Frazier tallying 12 carries and 67 rushing yards (5.6 YPC) last week. PrizePicks is projecting Frazier for 49.5 rush yards vs. Ole Miss, slightly ahead of Georgia RB Dwight Phillips Jr.’s 41.5.
No Kewan Lacy is also a huge blow for a Rebels squad that sports a 46.30% rush play rate (14th percentile). This offense likely becomes even more reliant on QB Trinidad Chambliss, who is projected for 259.5 pass yards vs. Georgia via PrizePicks, and one-dimensional is never an ideal situation vs. a quality defense.
Ole Miss averages 1.5 turnovers per game (24th percentile), feeding the Bulldogs’ 0.9 turnover margin per game (91st percentile). If UGA controls the run game, too, that helps the Dawgs play to their 29.6 seconds per play (fifth percentile). A low-possession game would likely take the Rebels out of their comfort zone of 22.7 seconds per play (96th percentile).

#19 Iowa vs. Northwestern Prediction on Over/Under for CFB Week 10
Time, How to Watch: 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX
This should have been yet another top-25 game on tonight’s lineup, with Northwestern 20th nationally out of 138 FBS teams in net adjusted EPA per play (20th). Further, the 6-2 Wildcats have dropped games to top-25 opponents — #23 Oregon and #4 Indiana — placing Northwestern 23rd in ESPN’s strength of record (SOR) metric.
Regardless, we have another good one on our hands, as Iowa is one spot ahead of the Wildcats in SOR. Additionally, the Hawkeyes are 27th nationally in net adjusted EPA per play.
However, Northwestern has a major injury with QB Aidan Chiles doubtful. Iowa is on track to dodge any major absence, with CB Jaylen Watson and S Zach Lutmer probable.
Among eligible players, Pro Football Focus gives Chiles the highest player grade (87.1) for Big Ten QBs. Further, his 78.0% adjusted completion percentage is second in the conference, which is even more impressive considering his 9.5 average depth of target (aDOT).
Northwestern QB Nicco Marchiol is the expected starter in Chiles’ place, and Marchiol went 6-2 as a starter for West Virginia. He had minimal production over four games last season, including 24.5 passing attempts, 176.8 passing yards, 0.5 passing TDs, 0.5 INTs, and 0.8 turnover-worthy plays per game.
Across his career that began in 2022, Marchiol carries a total of 10 passing TDs and 7 INTs. Turnovers are a clear concern, and that changes everything for an offense that’s benefited from Chiles’ 1 INT over eight games.
Iowa leans on a strong defense that surrenders 14.3 PPG (94th percentile). Northwestern already has a high 58.84% rush play rate (88th percentile), and that could be even more of the case with a backup QB. The Hawkeyes yield only 2.5 yards per carry (98th percentile).
In last week’s dominant 30-0 win as 2.5-point favorites vs. Wisconsin, Iowa forced 3 turnovers, gave up 2.2 YPC, and hit big plays through the air (9.3 yards per passing attempt). But Northwestern has the answer by allowing 6.6 yards per passing attempt (77th percentile).
The Hawkeyes may want to attack the Wildcats’ 4.7 YPC allowed (28th percentile). That would only shorten the game even more, and both teams are in the top 40 nationally for the most seconds per play, implying slow tempos.
With each defense holding an answer for the opposing offense’s strength, paired with Chiles’ injury and slow tempos, we may have a classic, ugly, low-scoring Big Ten battle.
