The Spain vs. France lineups are confirmed for today’s 2026 World Cup Semifinal match set to kick off at 3 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The two countries are no strangers, having met 38 previous times, with France winning 18, Spain 13, and 7 draws. Spain knocked France out of Euro 2024 in the semifinals, while France edged Spain in the 2021 Nations League final.

However, the only previous World Cup matchup was a France win in the 2006 Round of 16.

France is the favorite to advance to the Final, with a 1.58x payout on PrizePicks Team Picks and a 60% implied win probability heading into Tuesday’s match.

The 2018 World Cup champions won Group I with a sweep of Senegal, Iraq, and Norway before eliminating Sweden, Paraguay, and Morocco without conceding a goal in the knockout stage to advance to the semifinals for the third straight World Cup.

Spain, who won the 2010 World Cup, won Group H, then beat Austria 3-0 in the Round of 32, Portugal 1-0 in the Round of 16, and Belgium 2-1 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals for the first time since winning the 2010 title.

What Spain vs. France Starting Lineups Mean for World Cup 2026 Semifinal Predictions

Spain will roll with a similar lineup that has gotten them to the semifinals, conceding one goal all tournament. Manager Luis de La Fuente has built his team around Rodri's control in midfield and Lamine Yamal's creativity in attack.

Most notably, Fabián Ruiz remains in the starting XI over Pedri for the second straight match.

Spain is built to control games through the middle and suffocate opponents there, which is what they will need to do to beat top-ranked France.

Spain leads the tournament with 66.0% possession, using Olmo and Pedri to control the middle before getting the ball to Lamine Yamal and Alex Baena in dangerous areas. It will be key to watch if they can do the same without Pedri in the starting XI.

France will start Aurelien Tchouameni in the defensive midfield, part of the 4-2-3-1 formation. He is the midfield anchor that sets up the attack led by Golden Boot favorite Kylian Mbappé. His 8 goals are tied with Lionel Messi for most in the World Cup.

Mbappé leads the attack with Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, and Michael Olise, in what makes up the best offensive fire-power in the World Cup.
