The electricity in Milwaukee for the Brewers’ first World Series appearance in 44 years was palpable following their four-game sweep of the defending champion Dodgers.

The Brewers plated a pair of first-inning runs thanks to back-to-back RBIs from DH Christian Yelich and C William Contreras. Milwaukee led 3-1 in the ninth inning before Tampa Bay scored and had runners in scoring position with two outs. The Brewers held on for the 3-2 win, improving to 8-1 in the postseason.

In an interesting twist, Rays SP Nick Martinez produced more strikeouts (5) than Milwaukee ace Jacob Misiorowski (3). According to Baseball Savant, Misiorowski compiled 40 pitches of at least 100 mph, but only four of those were swings and misses.

Tampa Bay turns to its hottest pitcher in Game 2, sending out right-hander Drew Rasmussen. In his last 15 starts since the All-Star break, the Rays own an impressive 14-1 mark.

The lone loss came in Game 1 of the ALCS to Cleveland, though Rasmussen still delivered a quality start by allowing 2 earned runs in six innings of work.

In his first matchup at Milwaukee in early April, Rasmussen struck out 8 batters in five innings and yielded a pair of runs. However, the Rays’ bullpen fell apart in a 2-2 game in the eighth inning, as Milwaukee scored 6 runs to pull away for an 8-2 victory.

Since July 9, the Brewers have posted an incredible 13-2 record when SP Logan Henderson takes the mound. Henderson’s shortest outing in this stretch came in his last appearance, tossing four innings in an NLCS Game 2 win over the Dodgers.

Tampa Bay’s xBA of .213 in Game 1 was its lowest since Game 3 of the ALCS at .115. That was also the last time the Rays lost, falling to the Guardians 3-1.
