NFL Week 3 brought another wave of key injuries for fantasy football, headlined by a season-ending torn ACL for Dolphins RB De’Von Achane and a dislocated thumb for Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield.

And those injuries are already shifting Week 4 picks, fantasy football lineups, and the season outlook for some teams.

At QB, Mayfield and Caleb Williams are both expected to miss the next few weeks, while Jayden Daniels is working his way back from a dislocated elbow and has a chance to play in Week 4.

At RB, Achane is done for the season, while Travis Etienne Jr. and Breece Hall are both expected to miss time. And at WR, Puka Nacua is still sidelined, while Justin Jefferson has a chance to play after an ankle sprain that made him the biggest Reboot on PrizePicks this week.

Below is the full NFL Week 5 injury report ahead of this week’s practice reports, which will start dropping later today, all broken down by position, including their latest injury status, expected timelines, and who steps up if each guy sits.

Week 4 Injury Report: QBs

Here are the quarterbacks to keep an eye on in the NFL Week 4 injury report for fantasy football.

Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield Injury Update

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield suffered a dislocated thumb on his throwing hand late in the fourth quarter of the team’s loss to the Vikings, dropping the team to 0-3.

‍The MRI was clean: no fracture and no ligament or tendon damage to his thumb. That’s the best case for Mayfield and the Bucs, but he’s not in the clear yet.

Mayfield is still expected to miss time, likely 3-4 weeks. In the meantime, undrafted rookie QB Jalon Daniels will fill in after winning the backup job in training camp. Daniels is a dual-threat QB who could have some fantasy appeal in the coming weeks, as the Bucs are set to face the Packers, Cowboys, and Steelers.

Commanders QB Jayden Daniels Injury Update

After sitting out in Week 3, there is still some uncertainty around when Commanders QB Jayden Daniels will return. However, there’s a chance that he plays as soon as Week 4, after dislocating his non-throwing left elbow in Week 2.

The Commanders chose not to place Daniels on IR, which means he’s closer than four weeks away from returning. Coach Dan Quinn said that Daniels will “likely” travel with the team to London and practice this week to test out his elbow; it’s uncertain whether he will wear a brace. As of writing, Daniels still appears to be unlikely to play in Week 4.

Although he is avoiding surgery for now, he will likely need surgery on that non-throwing elbow after the season ends, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Luckily, the Commanders appear to have some breathing room at the QB position, as Marcus Mariota led the team to a 33-31 win over the Seahawks in Week 3, with 183 pass yards and 3 TDs.

Panthers QB Bryce Young Injury Update

While there’s a lot unknown here, Panthers QB Bryce Young will undergo imaging and diagnosis on his lower body this week. Head coach Dave Canales said that Young may have taken a cleat to the foot in Sunday’s game and was “sore” afterward.

Young is not expected to miss time; the Panthers face the Lions on Sunday Night Football in Week 4.

Bears QB Caleb Williams & Tyson Bagent Injury Updates

Latest reports expect Bears QB Caleb Williams to be out 3-4 weeks after suffering a Grade 2 hamstring strain. In all likelihood, that will keep him out for at least Week 4, which leaves either Case Keenum or Tyson Bagent to start in Week 4 vs. the Jets.

Bagent is the Bears’ QB2 and subbed in for Williams in Week 2; however, a concussion kept him sidelined in practice all week. He was eventually cleared and served as the backup to Keenum on Monday Night Football.

Even if Bagent gets a full week of practice, it’s very possible that Keenum will start again in Week 4 vs. the Jets if Williams can’t play, after Keenum posted a 247-yard, 2-TD passing performance vs. the Eagles on Monday night.

Week 4 Injury Report: RBs

Here are the running backs to keep an eye on in the NFL Week 4 injury report for fantasy football.

Dolphins RB De’Von Achane Injury Update

The worst roster in the NFL just got worse. Dolphins star RB De’Von Achane tore his ACL in Week 3 and will miss the rest of the season. The 24-year-old RB was placed on injured reserve on Monday after signing a 4-year, $64 million deal this offseason.

Because Dolphins RB2 Jaylen Wright was out in this game, it’s hard to predict exactly how this backfield will play out without Achane — aside from the fact that it’s not going to be particularly valuable for fantasy football. If Wright is healthy, he should slightly lead the backfield in a split with Olie Gordon II, who finished Week 3 with 17 carries for 41 yards (2.4 YPC) and a touchdown, plus 3 catches for 14 yards.

Wright is still considered day-to-day going forward, but would certainly eat into Gordon’s backfield share if he’s active in Week 4 vs. the Vikings.

Saints RB Travis Etienne Jr. Injury Update

Saints head coach Kellen Moore has already confirmed that Travis Etienne Jr. — one of the team’s biggest free-agent signings — will miss time with a hamstring injury.

Similar to the Dolphins above, we’re likely to see a split backfield here that may not be conducive to fantasy production. That said, the Saints seem to prefer Alvin Kamara over Kendre Miller. Kamara got 9 carries and ran 12 routes in Week 3, while Miller had 4 carries and ran 8 routes.

While both will get an increased role, neither is likely to dominate the touches here. Kamara is the favorite to receive the bulk of the team’s RB snaps, with 9 carries in each of the last two weeks. Rookie RB CJ Donaldson is also in the mix, muddying the waters even further.

Jets RB Breece Hall Injury Update

Jets RB Breece Hall suffered a quad injury in Week 3 and is now considered “week-to-week.” That means Hall is likely to miss at least Week 4 vs. the Bears, is in danger of missing Week 5 vs. the Browns, and could even miss Week 6 vs. the Patriots.

That should make RB Braelon Allen the primary RB for the Jets. Allen has only three career games with 10+ carries, all in 2024, as a knee injury kept him sidelined for most of 2025. In those games, Allen posted 9.8, 9.2, and 12.1 fantasy points (PPR).

So far in 2026, Allen is averaging just 3.2 yards per carry, making him a flex option at best, even with Hall sidelined.

Steelers RB Rico Dowdle Injury Update

New Steelers RB Rico Dowdle didn’t play in Week 3, as he’s dealing with a toe injury. He was seen wearing a boot after Week 2 and did not participate in Monday and Tuesday’s practices as the Steelers prepare to take on the Browns on Thursday Night Football.

With Dowdle out, Jaylen Warren dominated the Steelers’ backfield in Week 3 with an 81% rush share, posting a 17-127 line on the ground and adding 3-49 receiving, including a 30-yard catch.

On a short week, it’s likely we’ll see Dowdle sit out at least one more game, but stay tuned for upcoming practice reports. If he does sit, Warren should be the bellcow RB again in Week 4.

Week 4 Injury Report: WRs

Here are the wide receivers to keep an eye on in the NFL Week 4 injury report for fantasy football.

Vikings WR Justin Jefferson Injury Update

Justin Jefferson suffered an ankle sprain in the first half of Sunday’s game vs. the Bucs and did not return. However, the MRIs were encouraging, giving Jetta a chance to play in Week 4; it’s possible we’ll see this decision go until Sunday afternoon, as the Vikings play the Dolphins at 4:05 p.m. ET.

Without Jefferson, Vikings QB Kyler Murray had no problem finding Jordan Addison, who finished Week 3 with 5 receptions for 90 yards and a TD on 9 targets. Addison would be a high-end WR2 in fantasy football if Jefferson is unable to go in Week 4 vs. the Dolphins.

Rams WR Puka Nacua Injury Update

Things are not looking great for Puka Nacua, who has now missed two weeks with a groin injury. The injury is reportedly affecting Nacua’s “explosiveness,” which could cause him to miss up to six games. However, there’s also a chance he can play as early as this week.

Something to monitor as the week progresses: if we don’t see Nacua practice this week, it could mean he’s headed for surgery soon. If he’s out for an extended period, Davante Adams becomes an immediate high-end WR1; Adams has posted 15-332-2 on 23 targets across the two games with Nacua out.

Texans WR Nico Collins Injury Update

Texans WR1 Nico Collins missed Weeks 2 and 3 with a hamstring injury, but he has a “decent chance” to return in Week 4 vs. the Cowboys. I wouldn't count on Collins being ready for Wek 4, but he looks to be close.

With Collins sidelined, TE Dalton Schultz (17 targets) and WR Xavier Hutchinson (15 targets) have seen increased usage.

Ravens WR Zay Flowers Injury Update

While Zay Flowers returned from his hamstring injury in Week 3 vs. the Cowboys in Brazil, he played only 32.8% of snaps, logging 6 targets and posting an impressive 5 receptions for 84 yards in his limited time. He has 234 yards on just 25 routes run this season.

All indications are that Flowers left Week 3 without further injury, which means he should be set for additional workload in Week 4 vs. the Titans, who rank 20th in defensive dropback expected points added (EPA) per play, per RBSDM.

49ers WR Mike Evans Injury Update

49ers WR Mike Evans left Week 3 with a rib injury, but it looks to be minor. Latest reports expect Evans to be good to go for Week 4 vs. the Broncos.

Evans has already dealt with several injuries this year but avoided anything major, including quad, abductor, and hip injuries through training camp and early in the season.

Despite the injuries, Evans leads the 49ers WRs in targets per route at 29.1%, per FTN. He should remain the 49ers’ clear WR1 in an otherwise depleted WR room.

Panthers WR Jalen Coker Injury Update

Panthers look to have a true 1A/1B situation with the emergence of Jalen Coker alongside second-year WR Tetairoa McMillan. However, Coker left the game in the first half on Sunday and did not return.

The good news is that Coker suffered a simple quad strain, and he’s already being considered questionable to play for Week 4. Even if he plays, don’t expect Coker at 100% this week.

Dolphins WR Caleb Douglas Injury Update

Dolphins rookie WR Caleb Douglas missed Week 3 vs. the Chiefs with an ankle injury after missing all of practice that week. In his place, Chris Bell played 72% of the snaps, posting a 4-67 line. Expect the Dolphins to start Bell and Malik Washington at WR if Douglas is unable to get on the practice field this week.

Buccaneers WR Jalen McMillan Injury Update

Bucs WR Jalen McMillan just hasn’t been able to stay healthy since being drafted in the third round in 2024. He is likely to go on IR and miss 6-8 weeks after spraining his PCL — a reaggravation of his camp injury.

That leaves the Bucs with Emeka Egbuka, Chris Godwin Jr., Ted Hurst III, and Tez Johnson leading the WR room for the majority of the season.

Broncos WR Jaylen Waddle

There isn’t a ton of info here until we get practice reports on Wednesday; however, Broncos WR Jaylen Waddle was seen in a boot on Sunday night. Waddle’s snap share was not affected, as he played 73% of the snaps in Week 3, so this is likely just a precaution.

Keep an eye out for practice reports through the week, but Waddle should be good to go for Week 4 based on all the current info we have.

Week 4 Injury Report: TEs

Here are the tight ends to keep an eye on in the NFL Week 4 injury report for fantasy football.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert Injury Update

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert was inactive in Week 3 with a sprained MCL and is expected to miss at least one more week. In his place, the Eagles played TEs Johnny Mundt and Zach Ertz vs. the Bears; they combined for 2 receptions for 13 yards on 3 targets and are not fantasy relevant.

Rams TE Terrance Ferguson Injury Update

Rams TE Terrance Ferguson was a massive beneficiary of Puka Nacua’s injury in Week 2, with a 30% target share, per FTN, posting a 6-54-1 line on 9 targets. Ferguson looked to be emerging as the Rams' clear second target with Nacua sidelined.

But in Week 3, Ferguson suffered an ankle sprain that is likely to keep him out of the Week 4 game vs. the Eagles.

To make matters worse, TE Colby Parkinson also suffered an AC sprain and is questionable for Week 4.

TE Tyler Higbee became a go-to target for QB Matthew Stafford in Week 3 vs. the Broncos, posting an 8-62-1 line and ranking second in targets with 11. With Ferguson and Parkinson uncertain for Week 4 and Puka nursing a groin injury, Higbee is a top waiver-wire target this week if you need a TE.

Jets TE Mason Taylor Injury Update

While Jets TE Mason Taylor is not fantasy-relevant, his Week 3 absence due to a minor thumb injury opened the door for rookie TE Kenyon Sadiq. Sadiq played just 58% of the snaps but posted 7 receptions for 105 yards and a TD — good for 23.5 fantasy points and a perfect 158.3 passer rating when targeted.

Taylor is still considered week-to-week; he did not practice all of last week, which is not a great sign for Week 4. If he sits again, Sadiq could be a tight end to target as the Jets travel to Chicago as slight underdogs.
