Breece Hall Injury Update: Will Hall Play in Week 4?
In a Monday report from Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter, it was revealed that Hall is nursing a quad injury. An MRI led to some “good news” for the veteran do-it-all chess piece, although he’s still being evaluated on a week-to-week basis.
All things considered, this isn’t quite the best-case scenario for New York. With that said, it’s infinitely better than a tear or something that’d hold the former second-round pick out for multiple months.
Hall exited in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game after sustaining the ailment in what was a tough day at the office. On 13 rushing attempts, he mustered all of 32 yards against a Detroit defense that comes into Week 4 allowing the second-highest EPA per rush at 0.045 (via RBSDM).
Hall’s been a mainstay in New York’s offense for years, with the 2025 campaign seeing him take his game to another level despite plenty of dysfunction around him. In 16 regular-season outings, he set career highs for carries (243), rushing yards (1,065), receiving success rate (54.2%), and more.
While the Jets only managed three wins, it certainly wasn’t due to Hall’s shortcomings.
Through most of three games, Hall’s averaging 4.3 yards per touch with 265 total yards from scrimmage and a TD. He came into the regular season rehabbing a groin strain, so this marks his second injury-related development in as many months.
The week-to-week nature of this quad issue makes it murky at best for Hall to be active for this weekend’s game, so keep an eye on New York’s practice reports throughout the week to see if he participates in any capacity.
Jets Fantasy Football Outlook: Target Braelon Allen in Week 4?
In the event of Hall sitting out Week 4 and beyond, RBs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis are the first players to look to in the backfield. With the latter being a trusted special teams option, though, it’s clear that Allen could absorb the majority of the work.
Allen, a third-year man, has already logged more carries (19) in three games than he did all of last year (18) after a knee injury held him to just four outings in 2025. He’s averaging just 3.2 yards per carry on the campaign, although that’s come with a 52.6% success rate and a score in the process.
The 22-year-old logged every target and rush attempt among Jets RBs once Hall left Sunday’s game, recording 6.3 expected fantasy points. He had 4 totes for 14 yards and 3 receptions for 3 yards in Week 3’s 7-point defeat.
At 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds, he makes perfect sense as a short-yardage or late-down mercenary for Glenn and offensive coordinator Frank Reich. Per Nate Tice of Yahoo Sports, he owns a top-three third-down conversion rate on the ground since he entered the league.
Allen has topped the 30-snap mark twice, with one of those instances being Week 3 (34 reps). Should Hall be inactive this weekend, something similar could be in the cards.
