Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss scrambles out of the pocket vs. Florida.

Miami vs. Notre Dame’s rematch this week in South Bend may get the headlines, but #2 Georgia and #10 Ole Miss have a rematch of their own that could decide who goes to the SEC championship in Atlanta next month as well as spots in the College Football Playoff. ‍

Ole Miss has a signature win on its resume from beating former coach Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers. But it also has losses to Florida and Texas on the road, so a win vs. #2 Georgia would go a long way towards playing in the SEC title game and/or the College Football Playoff.

The Rebels are led by Heisman Trophy candidate QB Trinidad Chambliss and an offense that ranks 17th nationally in scoring (37.1 PPG) and 26th in total offense (439.6 YPG). The Rebels average 282.1 passing yards per game, 18th nationally, and are coming off a 45-point performance against Auburn. After leading 17-15 midway through the third quarter, Ole Miss scored the game's final 28 points.

The challenge for the Rebels is a Georgia defense that has allowed just 14.9 points per game, 11th nationally, and 272.6 total yards per game (ninth). The Bulldogs have held seven of their eight opponents to 20 points or fewer and limited Florida to just 54 rushing yards last weekend. However, Ole Miss has already demonstrated that it can score against Kirby Smart's defense, putting up 35 and 39 points in last season's two meetings.

Georgia bounced back from an upset loss at home to shut down rival Florida last week. The Bulldogs have one of the country's best offenses, ranking fourth nationally in scoring (41.0 PPG) and 19th in total offense (450.9 YPG). The Dawgs have spread the ball around, with 13 different players catching a touchdown pass this season.

The running game has also been good, with UGA averaging 200.1 rushing yards per game and 5.9 yards per carry, paired with 20 rushing TDs through eight games. They've continued producing despite injuries to RBs Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens thanks to production from Dwight Phillips Jr. and Bo Walker. Georgia rushed for 217 yards against Florida last week.

Georgia isn't just one of the SEC's most efficient offenses. The Bulldogs are producing explosive plays, ranking second in the SEC in explosive-play rate (14.8%), trailing only Alabama (15.0%). Plus, it also ranks second in both 10+ yard run rate and 20+ yard pass rate.
