Following a narrow 35-31 win as 14.5-point favorites against in-state rival Miami (OH) in Week 3, Cincinnati responded with a 31-26 dub as 6.5-point underdogs over Kansas State a week ago. The Bearcats outpaced Kansas State by recording 436 total yards, 12.7 yards per passing attempt, and 7.1 yards per carry.

Arizona’s Week 2 loss vs. BYU (28-17) wasn’t bad by any means, as the Cougars are up to #10 in the AP Top 25 Poll. However, the Cats’ thoroughly lost the run game by tallying only 3.1 yards per carry compared to BYU’s 4.9.

Those struggles continued with 3.1 yards per rushing attempt in Week 3’s 42-17 win over Northern Illinois and 3.9 yards per carry in last week’s 34-24 victory vs. Washington State.

Which offense can find balance and lead its team to a Big 12 win in our Cincinnati vs. Arizona prediction?

Cincinnati vs. Arizona Prediction on Spread – 10/3/26

Cincinnati is 3-1 against the spread (ATS), while Arizona is a dreadful 0-4 ATS this season. The Wildcats continue to underachieve, and the Bearcats have an adjusted EPA per play that’s nearly 30 spots above the Cats nationally.

As mentioned, Cincy wants to run the rock, and Arizona likes to throw it downfield. When diving into the defenses, this matchup favors Cincinnati.

The Bearcats surrender -0.05 EPA per passing attempt (71st percentile) and a 40.5% pass success rate (70th percentile). Meanwhile, Arizona’s defense gives up 0.13 EPA per rushing attempt (21st percentile) and a 44.7% rush success rate (47th percentile).

Cincinnati can play to its strength in the run game, led by RBs Gi’Bran Payne (7.2 YPC) and Cole Tabb (11.1 YPC). According to PrizePicks, Payne is projected for 68.5 rush yards, while Tabb carries 45.5 rush yards.

Arizona QB Noah Fifita is projected for 278.5 pass yards, but the Bearcats are limiting teams to a low pass success rate and a solid 16.3% havoc rate (53rd percentile), per Fourth and Short. The Wildcats have also allowed an 8.77% sack rate (18th percentile), potentially limiting Fifita’s time in the pocket.

According to Pro Football Focus, Fifita’s 81.3 passing grade drops to 41.4 when under pressure this season. He’s made only 1 big-time throw under pressure compared to 7 when in a clean pocket, and 2 of Fifita’s 3 turnover-worthy plays were when he was under pressure.

Rounding out Cincy’s chances of finding success on the road, it has a +1.0 turnover margin per game (85th percentile) compared to Arizona’s -0.3 (41st percentile). The Bearcats could even have a slight advantage on key downs, with a 52.4% third/fourth down success rate — sitting above the Wildcats’ 48.8% mark.
