The best day of NBA All-Star Weekend festivities is upon us, kicking off with the NBA 3-Point Contest at 5:00 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
Similar to years past, there will be an eight-player field shooting 27 balls over 70 seconds across five racks. Four 1-point balls and one 2-point “Money Ball” populate each rack, along with two 3-point "Starry Balls" overall. Each player selects one rack to be all Money Balls. The top three scorers advance to the final round.
Below, we'll break down the 2026 3-Point Contest with picks, predictions, and a preview, including one longshot selection for PrizePicks and PrizePicks Team Picks.

State Farm 3-Point Contest Picks for PrizePicks
Here are three players to consider for the 3-Point Contest on Saturday, February 14, on PrizePicks Team Picks. Player stat projections via PrizePicks are headlined by G-F Kon Knueppel, PG Jamal Murray, and F Bobby Portis.
Charlotte Hornets G-F Kon Knueppel
In a field littered with some of the best shooters in the world, including two former contest champions (Lillard and Booker), Knueppel may stand above the rest as the best. It’s hard to put into words how impressive that is for a rookie, so we’ll let the stats do the talking.
Knueppel is second in the NBA in 3-pointers made (183) and is on pace to obliterate the rookie regular-season record. He ranks second among all participants in percentage (43.1%) behind only Portis, but he's attempted 226 more trey-balls than Portis.
The first-year man will make history if he intends to win this contest, however, as no rookie has ever done it. Knueppel is talented enough to solidify a record-breaking season with some hardware tonight.
Picking Kon Knueppel to win the NBA 3-Point Contest pays out 3.57x on PrizePicks Team Picks if you're right — or $357 on a $100 entry.
Denver Nuggets PG Jamal Murray Projection: RD1 - 5.5 Money Balls Made
Murray to make More than 5.5 Money Balls (9 attempts) could appeal to anyone who has watched him play in pressure moments. He is a bright-lights merchant who plays his best ball when the most eyes are watching.
Murray is averaging 25.7 points per game, by far the most of his career. He's doing it on impressive efficiency from deep, shooting 42.5%, the third-best 3-point percentage of all participants. Additionally, he ranks second in catch-and-shoot 3-point percentage (43.2%), a split that best mimics the style of shot this contest requires.
Picking Jamal Murray to win the NBA 3-Point Contest pays out 6.25x on PrizePicks Team Picks if you're right — or $625 on a $100 entry.
Milwaukee Bucks F Bobby Portis
It’s pretty rare that the highest payout to win also happens to have the best 3-point splits of all participants.
Portis leads all contestants in percentage at 45%. While his volume might not be on the level of the guards around him, he's also playing by far the fewest minutes of all participants yet still averaging a healthy 4.2 attempts per game. He also ranks first among participants in catch-and-shoot 3-point clip at a ridiculous 45.4%.
The 6-foot-9 forward looks to become just the fourth ever big man to win this event, joining Karl-Anthony Towns (2022), Kevin Love (2012), and Dirk Nowitzki (2006).
Picking Bobby Portis to win the NBA 3-Point Contest pays out 11.11x on PrizePicks Team Picks if you're right — or $1,111 on a $100 entry.
