Pacers vs. Thunder: Game 6 Preview & Game 5 Recap

The Thunder took care of business at home in Game 5, defeating the Pacers to take a critical 3-2 series. Of the last nine teams to win Game 5to take a 3-2 lead, seven have gone on to win the Finals.

The Thunder were led by Jalen Williams, who scored a playoff career-high of 40 points, while shooting 14-of-25 from the field and 3-of-5 from 3-point range.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander also played a big role in the Thunder, scoring 31 points, which combined 71 total points between the two Thunder All-Stars. As a team, the Thunder shot 44% from 3-point range, knocking down 14 3-pointers, and had their best defensive showing in the series so far, blocking 12 shots and stole the basketball 15 times.

Turnovers played a part in the Pacers defeat, as they lost the ball 22 times during the game.

Tyrese Haliburton struggled heavily in Game 5, as he scored only four points and didn’t make a field goal for the entire game, addingthree turnovers and zero steals. Haliburton also had to go back to the locker room, as he sustained a calf injury during the second quarter. In his post-game press conference, Haliburton mentioned that he’ll play in Game 6, but he isundergoing further tests on his calf.

Haliburton will need to get back into form in Indiana for Game 6 if the Pacers want to extend the series to a Game 7.
