The Los Angeles Lakers are right in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race, looking to lock up a prime postseason seed in the near future. As their quest rolls on, though, their best player is operating at less than 100%.
Prior to Friday night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, superstar PG Luka Doncic appeared on the injury report. Los Angeles has since shared an updated outlook on Doncic before tip-off at 10:30 p.m. ET.
Let’s dive into the latest Luka Doncic injury update and how it could impact PrizePicks player projections for tonight’s Nets vs. Lakers clash.

Luka Doncic Injury Update vs. Nets Tonight
Originally, Doncic was listed as questionable to play on Friday with left hamstring soreness. On Friday afternoon, the Lakers upgraded him to available, paving the way for him to play against the Nets. F Rui Hachimura (calf) was also upgraded.
Doncic has been mostly durable for L.A. this season, playing in 61 of 73 possible contests. The six-time NBA All-Star has nursed leg, groin, and ankle ailments at other points in the 2025-26 season.
Thus far, Doncic has played a major role in the Lakers owning a 47-26 record and currently pacing to be the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. His season averages include a league-leading 33.6 points per game, in addition to 7.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists.
The veteran guard has been on an absolute tear in his last 11 games, averaging 39.5 points on 48.0% shooting from the field and 38.6% from 3-point land. He has five 40+ point efforts in that span, including a 51-point outburst on March 12 and a 60-point showing on March 19.
As the Lakers attempt to avoid an upset vs. the Nets, Doncic eyes another inspired performance.
Doncic & Other Lakers Players to Target vs. Nets
There’s no denying that Los Angeles can only go as far as Doncic takes them. He’s the unquestioned top option on a team that also includes elite offensive weapons like SG Austin Reaves and F LeBron James. With that said, the latter two are viable secondary and tertiary pieces.
In 47 games this season, Reaves is averaging 23.6 PPG on 49.2% from the field. The Wichita State and Oklahoma product continues to ascend, and he was on an All-Star trajectory before missing time due to an injury. His 26.6% usage rate is a new personal best, even with Doncic in the fold.
James, meanwhile, continues to defy the odds and fight off Father Time. In his 23rd season, he’s pouring in 21.0 PPG while making over half of his shots (51.3%). He’s taken a backseat since the All-Star break (18.8 PPG), but his efficiency (61.2% true shooting) has increased.
As mentioned, however, The Don is the straw that stirs the drink.
