Not many sports have a job audition on live television. Mixed martial arts and the UFC aren't like many other sports.
Every summer, Dana White scours local regional MMA scenes for the future stars of UFC, pitting the world’s top prospects against each other on Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) for 10 weeks.
These prospects can’t just win. To get a contract, they’ve got to impress the boss, making the bouts even more action-packed than weekly UFC events. As an even more unique twist, sometimes even losers of wild fights get signed.
The action goes down every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. ET on Paramount+, and we’re breaking down Season 10, Episode 6 with predictions, predictive analysis, and PrizePicks UFC picks.

Dana White’s Contender Series Predictions Tonight for Week 6 – Tuesday, September 15
Before we get into our Dana White’s Contender Series predictions for tonight, here’s a brief intro on what you'll find below.
Season 10, Episode 6 of the Contender Series is expected to start at 7:00 p.m. ET, with the first fight on Paramount+. As usual, there are five fights scheduled. Here’s a full rundown of the proceedings:
- Featured Bout: Zevan Hunt vs. Mayton Perea — Welterweight
- Oscar Ravello vs. Igor Cavalcanti — Middleweight
- Ednilson Santos vs. Akbar Abdullaev — Lightweight
- Luis Hernandez vs. Hugo Guillon — Middleweight
- Tyshawn Williams vs. Antonio Monteiro — Featherweight
We’ll list the payouts for who will win each of these featured Contender Series fights, via PrizePicks Team Picks. For example, a 2x means the result will payout $200 on a $100 entry. A lower payout multiplier signals a higher implied probability of that result based on user picks.
PrizePicks Team Picks payouts are live at the time of writing and are subject to change. UFC winner markets are available in 36 states, including Florida, California, and Texas!
Luis Hernandez vs. Hugo Guillon Prediction for DWCS Tonight – Tuesday, September 15
Fight Winner Payouts: Luis Hernandez 2.38x | Hugo Guillon 1.53x (via PrizePicks)
Weight Class: Middleweight (185 lbs.)
This middleweight matchup has a massive size difference, but I think it's going to make for a captivating, tactical battle.
Hugo Guillon is a 6'4" orthodox fighter from France. Luis Hernandez is a 5'9" southpaw from the United States. Hernandez relentlessly pressures, and Guillon is willing to be backed up. If there was a textbook clash of approaches, here it is.
Hernandez's tape was fun. The undefeated Floridian works exactly how he has to, given his stature: crashing the pocket, throwing big overhands, and attacking takedowns after combinations.
He fought the best combined opponent that these two have faced. Hernandez faced Miles Hunsinger, an Xtreme Couture product, in a high-paced brawl. He took a competitive first round before punishing an early takedown attempt in Round 2 with a guillotine. Taunting UFC fighters Sean Strickland and Chris Curtis in Hunsinger’s corner ended just as you’d expect:
I have less confidence in Guillon. He actually needed a come-from-behind submission against a 5-6 pro (Shakhbulat Abuev) just three fights ago. He's since knocked out a pair of opponents with a losing record. His one pro loss came via ground-and-pound in 2022.
The Frenchman has solid judo and might just be able to use his size to bully Hernandez, who is densely built but also struggled against Hunsinger with his own takedown defense. But it's an unfriendly dynamic to bank on takedowns against such a short guy with a sturdy base. You have to project a massive skill discrepancy.
At striking range, I like Hernandez. He's extremely durable and knows he has to pressure taller guys, and he's got the weapons to exploit his end of the open-stance matchup. It's not pretty, but it's effective.
I don't trust either guy's cardio, either. But Guillon quit after a round he was winning in, his only pro loss. There's no quit in Hernandez. That juxtaposition could loom large as both face their toughest test yet.
Predict the Hernandez vs. Guillon Winner for DWCS Week 6 on PrizePicks.
Hernandez vs. Guillon Pick for DWCS Week 6 on PrizePicks
Hugo Guillon – 23.5 Significant Strikes
A majority of Guillon’s fights are spent in the clinch — even if he’s successful.
His lone pro loss came in the bottom position. He spent a ton of time there in his lone Cage Warriors appearance against Matty Byfield, too. It’s probably the defined path to victory given Hernandez’s fight with Hunsinger as well.
At striking range, the underdog from Miami-Dade County — a sheriff with its police department — is powerful and willing to walk through the fire. I think the favorite might opt for the clinch early and often.

Oscar Ravello vs. Igor Cavalcanti Prediction for DWCS Tonight – Tuesday, September 15
Fight Winner Payouts: Oscar Ravello 2.7x | Igor Cavalcanti 1.42x (via PrizePicks Team Picks)
Weight Class: Middleweight (185 lbs.)
Hey, I'm a human. I sometimes fall victim to "aura" in spots like these, where my model is powerless.
When I have an afro-donning Brazilian knockout artist nicknamed "Jacare", I was all in — just like many of you were. Igor Cavalcanti was a substantial favorite over Seokhyeon Ko on DWCS a year ago.
Ko took the air out of the building with his takedown offense, but seeing him do that to multi-time UFC winners like Oban Elliott and Phil Rowe means that result alone doesn't exclude Cavalcanti from being a UFC-level fighter.
It really seemed like he faded badly against the Korean, prompting a move to middleweight. His last two fights were at 185 and 178 pounds, respectively, and I respect that he earned another pair of wins.
The latter came against Bellator alum Marek Jakimowicz, who is 7-3 as a pro but has chin issues. He really showed improvements when grappling in this fight to get back up on his feet and even scramble to the back at points:
Still, Cavalcanti is a flawed fighter. The cardio isn't great (but seems better at 185). He loads up too much. He hunts the head. But he would not be the first to win multiple UFC fights on the basis of "if I find your chin, it's over."
It'll be interesting to see if he faces any wrestling here against a knockout artist who has, occasionally, mixed things up.
Oscar Ravello has also tasted really elite competition. His corner threw in the towel after 10 minutes against Michael Morales, just after the potential future UFC champion's 20th birthday. Fabricio Martins, a longtime Jungle Fight stalwart, also knocked him out with a head kick in 2025. Frankly, there's a big difference between those guys and the guys he's beaten.
The striker from Peru is interesting in that he'll really blast kicks and cycle between different stances. He's pretty fast for a guy his size and showed a willingness to mix things up with his wrestling. Consider Cavalcanti’s issues there last year.
But, I think the overall process is still pretty lacking. He'll occasionally dip way down in volume when presented with a reputable adversary at a distance. I see him get hit clean often, considering the competitive level.
The urgency of this show swings the equation toward the knockout artist who's never been knocked out as a pro. The Peruvian underdog becomes more dangerous later into the fight if he can secure takedowns, but it’s a long road to get there.

Ravello vs. Cavalcanti Pick for DWCS Week 6 on PrizePicks
Ravello vs. Cavalcanti – 3.5 Fight Time (Mins)
All 13 of the Brazilian’s wins have come in the first round. Consider that alongside his projection to win, and it doesn’t take long to expect a quick night at the office.
But, to Ravello’s credit, he’s never been put out inside Round 1 against subpar competition, and Cavalcanti can’t possibly carry the same relative power at middleweight that he did as a welterweight.
To earn a contract, I’m expecting the Brazilian to have to dig deeper than he has before.

Zevan Hunt vs. Mayton Perea Prediction for DWCS Tonight – Tuesday, September 15
Fight Winner Payouts: Zevan Hunt 1.92x | Mayton Perea 1.81x (via PrizePicks Team Picks)
Weight Class: Welterweight (170 lbs.)
UFC matchmakers have to make super aggressive moves to find talent before other promotions do. I think Zevan Hunt is one of those.
There are quite a few Hunts across the domestic United States. He's 7-0 as a pro, but six of those wins have come for "Rage in the Cage OKC." His last win in Peak Fighting, which I highlighted for Colton Loud last week, was a second-round kneebar of Devin Smyth, a DWCS flameout.
Smyth was in noticeably worse shape at 170 than his lightweight bid on the show, and the two fought pretty evenly when fresh.
Hunt is a boxer with below-average speed and pretty bad habits, leaving his chin pretty high in the air, and he loaded up on several missed combos in that fight, leading to noticeable fatigue. His BJJ game is certainly more confident than it is potent.
Working combinations on the body, I think he's got a solid fight IQ, but his frame lacks physicality — which sort of forces him to press in spots and opponents can escape.
Mayton Perea, though, is nearly the opposite. At 6'3" with a 79" reach, he's going to tower over Hunt — and most everyone else in this welterweight division. For perspective, Michael Morales is 6'1" with the same reach.
Whenever you see someone with three finish losses in 11 pro fights, it's a little concerning, but two of those were submissions at least three years ago. He was 23 (or younger). Grappling stuff — especially in a larger weight class — can be developed, and he does have more wins (three) than setbacks via tapout.
The Ecuadorian is a confident, pressuring kickboxer who isn't afraid to eat shots. He did just that against LFA alum Wellington Madeira, who easily would be Hunt's best opponent. Madeira went out to a vicious uppercut that turned into ground-and-pound:
Hunt's lack of power, athleticism, and size really don't test chin issues, and it'd just be a little bit surprising to see the much smaller guy control clinch positions. I'm more certain that Perea is easily the biggest power threat that Hunt has faced on a show where pressure and aggression are typically rewarded.
If the Oklahoman is getting popped by shots like he was against Smyth, this could be a quick one.

Hunt vs. Perea Pick for DWCS Week 6 on PrizePicks
Zevan Hunt – 13.5 Significant Strikes
Similar to the first fight I discussed with Guillon, I just can’t see the Oklahoma native hanging out at striking distance with a mammoth fighter all that often.
Four of Hunt’s seven pro wins are by submission or decision, and he’s most confident on the back. Perea has been tapped twice. It’s a natural game plan for a show where you need a finish and your opponent wades through damage like it’s nothing.
A “Less” here also likely wins out if the slight favorite finds Hunt's chin early, too.
