Brandon Ingram Injury Update: Is Ingram Playing Tonight vs. Cavaliers?
Brandon Ingram was initially questionable on Sunday but has been downgraded to doubtful due to right heel inflammation, per the NBA injury report.
Sunday morning’s shootaround brought bad news, as Ingram did not participate and was seen in a walking boot. If out, this would mark his second consecutive absence in the series. Plus, he logged only 11 minutes in Game 5 compared to 34.3 minutes per game from Games 1 to 4.
Before the injury, Ingram was averaging 14.8 points per game (PPG) while shooting only 33.9% from the field in the first four games of the series.
What Players to Target on PrizePicks if Ingram Is Out?
Toronto has needed production outside of Ingram for virtually this entire series. Even when he was active, the veteran forward struggled with efficiency.
With that said, we’ve seen plenty of increased production across the Raptors’ rotation. That includes F Collin Murray-Boyles recording 15.5 PPG compared to 8.5 PPG in the regular season. Toronto G RJ Barrett has also increased his regular season 19.3 PPG average to 24.3 PPG in the playoffs.
According to FantasyLabs, Ja’Kobe Walter (+2.0%), RJ Barrett (+1.3%), and Collin Murray-Boyles (+0.8%) have seen the largest increases in usage rate when Ingram is off the court in the playoffs.
Here are the Raptors players who may benefit most on PrizePicks if Ingram is out — and their stat projections for Sunday night.
- G RJ Barrett — 23.5 Points / 33.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts / 36.5 Fantasy Score
- F Collin Murray-Boyles — 12.5 Points / 21.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts / 6.5 Rebounds
- G Ja’Kobe Walter — 11.5 Points / 2.5 Made 3-pointers / 23.5 Fantasy Score
Since Ingram sustained the injury in Game 5, Walter has posted 22.0 PPG. His role was already elevated from Games 1 to 4 with 27.3 minutes per game compared to 20.5 in the regular season due to G Immanuel Quickley’s absence with a hamstring strain.
Walter’s minutes have further spiked to 39.0 minutes per contest since Game 5. He’s cashed in 10 of 23 3-pointers (43.5%) over the last two games, and the Cavaliers finished the regular season allowing a 42.8% 3-point shot distribution (22nd), per Dunks & Threes.
