Best NBA Predictions, Picks for PrizePicks Today – Friday, October 30
Before we highlight our top NBA predictions and picks today, here’s a full look at tonight’s schedule, featuring when each game tips and point spreads via PrizePicks.
The Timberwolves continue to deal with G Anthony Edwards’ absence from a knee injury, but they face another thin team in the Clippers, who are without F Brandon Miller (Achilles) and G Bradley Beal (knee), while F Rui Hachimura (quad) is questionable. Despite injuries, Minnesota is still a 6.5-point favorite on the spread via PrizePicks.
Elsewhere, the Nuggets vs. Suns is a good opportunity to check out two potential playoff teams in the Western Conference. Each team has underperformed thus far, with Denver 1-3 against the spread (ATS) compared to Phoenix’s 0-3 record. Who could finally produce tonight?

Clippers vs. Timberwolves Prediction on Over/Under – 10/30/26
After being listed as questionable vs. the Cavaliers on Monday, Anthony Edwards played 41 minutes with 47 points in a 127-125 overtime loss. Following the contest, news broke that Edwards would undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee and miss up to two months.
The Timberwolves had their first full game without Edwards in the lineup during Wednesday’s 119-114 loss vs. the Warriors. It was the lowest scoring total of the young season, including a 44.4% field goal percentage and a 33.3% mark from 3-point land.
F Jaden McDaniels (19 points) and F Jonathan Kuminga (20 points) saw the most work with 18 and 15 shots. G Ayo Dosunmu also started with 12 field goal attempts and 17 points, while F Terrence Shannon Jr. provided 13 shots and 19 points off the bench.
Edwards was leading the team with 33.3 PPG while shooting 40.0% on 3-pointers. As we saw on Wednesday, the T-Wolves 3-point volume (45 shots) will likely remain high, but their efficiency from downtown may decline.
However, the Clippers have allowed only 9.8 made triples (fewest) and 28.8 3-point shots per game (fewest) thus far. That may force the Timberwolves into the paint, but they’ve strayed away from playing through C Rudy Gobert, who is taking only 5.4 shots per game despite 30.0 minutes.
Los Angeles has simply made games ugly by averaging 106.5 PPG (29th) and conceding 108.0 PPG (seventh). That’s contributed to a 3-1 under record, and that’s in line with the Wolves’ potential struggles without Edwards.
According to NBA.com, the Clippers boast the seventh-best defensive rating thus far. Minnesota is fully capable of playing a defensive game with the second-best rating, spearheaded by Gobert’s elite 93.2 defensive rating.

Clippers G Keaton Wagler vs. Timberwolves: 13.5 Points
- The Clippers drafted G Keaton Wagler with the #5 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft in hopes of finding a long-term running mate for G Darius Garland in the backcourt. The two could form a lethal shooting duo, and that applies to tonight’s matchup.
- Wagler has struggled with a 31.6% field goal percentage, but he’s shot an efficiency 39.1% from beyond the arc.
- Avoiding the painted area with Gobert roaming is wise, and the Wolves give up a 42.8% 3-point shot distribution (13th-highest), per databallr.
- Wagler comes off a career-best 21 points while making 3 of 8 3-point shots (37.5%). Plus, he shot 12 free throws, and the Timberwolves are 14th by allowing 25.2 free throw attempts per contest.

Nuggets vs. Suns Prediction on Team Total – 10/30/26
The Suns are currently last in defensive rating (124.5), allowing 123.7 PPG (26th) and a 56.8% effective field goal percentage (27th). The Nuggets have posted only 110.8 PPG (22nd) and carry a poor 108.3 defensive rating (22nd), but this could be a “get right” game.
According to PrizePicks, the Nuggets have a 1.81x payout to score more than 117.5 points vs. the Suns and a 1.85x payout to score less than 117.5 points tonight.
Denver led the league in offensive rating last season, and it still runs through one of basketball’s best, C Nikola Jokic. Plus, G Jamal Murray is averaging 22.5 while shooting a blistering 47.1% from beyond the arc.
F Cameron Johnson, who is a key part of this 3-point attack, has only played 11.0 minutes this season but could return with a questionable status due to his ankle injury tonight. If Johnson is back in the rotation, it could be bombs away since Phoenix allows a 43.5% 3-point shot distribution (ninth).
Furthermore, the Suns’ frontcourt could be thin. C Mark Williams (shoulder) is set to miss the first couple months of the season, and PF/C Oso Ighodaro (oblique) is questionable tonight. That would leave C Khaman Maluach with the primary duties of guarding Jokic, and Maluach has an alarming 124.8 defensive rating.
If Jokic is shining, backed by 22.0 PPG and 9.0 assists per game (APG), the Nuggets offense usually thrives.

Nuggets C Nikola Jokic vs. Suns: 9.5 Assists
- The Joker has struggled with his shot in the early going, shooting 21.7% from deep. However, the Nuggets continue to play through their big, including a 25.5% on ball rate (99th percentile).
- databallr’s predictive offensive impact metric looks at how a player improves his team’s expected scoring per 100 possessions. Jokic had a +5.1 total in the 100th percentile last season, and he’s still carries an elite +5.1 over four games this season.
- He’s averaging an excellent 9.0 APG, but there’s room for growth. Jokic boasts a ridiculous 22.3 potential assists per game (first).
- This is further backed by dishing out 4.6 rim assists per 100 possessions (100th percentile). Despite distributing easy looks, his teammates have a 49.0% eFG% when receiving passes from Jokic (eighth percentile).
- If his teammates improve their efficiency, Jokic’s current workload should generate more assists. The Suns’ bottom-tier defensive rating helps that cause.
Pick Nikola Jokic + Nuggets to win on PrizePicks.
