2026 World Cup Group B Winner Prediction

Switzerland to Win Group B: Yes 1.75x | No 2x

Switzerland to Win 2026 World Cup: Yes 33.33x | No N/A

Switzerland is led by 33-year-old MF Granit Xhaka, 33-year-old DF Ricardo Rodriguez, 29-year-old F Breel Embolo, and 28-year-old GK Gregor Kobel. Taking that into account, they won’t be lacking experience entering the tournament.

Across the 12 groups in FIFA World Cup qualifying, Switzerland was one of just eight teams to finish unbeaten (4-2-0), giving them plenty of momentum heading into the group stage. They were in a group with Kosovo, Slovenia, and Sweden during qualifying, with all four of their victories being decided by multiple goals.

Manager Murat Yakin is also no stranger to the World Cup stage, having helped lead the Swiss to the Round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. There aren’t many predicting Switzerland to make a run at the World Cup trophy, but they are the clear frontrunner in Group B.

Canada – World Cup Group B Prediction, Preview

To Win Group B: Yes 2.94x | No 1.36x

To Qualify for Knockout Stage: Yes 1.14x | No 4.34x

As one of the host nations of this year’s World Cup festivities, there are expectations for Canada to — at the very least — advance beyond the group stage. Toppling Switzerland could be a tough ask for Canada, but manager Jesse Marsch’s side did get a favorable draw with Bosnia and Qatar included in Group B.

History is not on Canada’s side, as they are playing in just their third World Cup, and they are still seeking their first win in the tournament. While F Jonathan David and DF Alphonso Davies are household names, Davies’ fitness is in doubt as he’s seen limited action for Bayern Munich since tearing his ACL in March 2025.

Furthermore, F Marcelo Flores suffered a torn ACL in the Concacaf Champions Cup Final on May 30. Will the Canadiens overcome injuries in the group stage?

A lack of experience and success at the World Cup could prevent Canada from sitting atop Group B, though they are positioned well to advance.

Bosnia and Herzegovina – World Cup Group B Prediction, Preview

To Win Group B: Yes 6.25x | No 1.08x

To Qualify for Knockout Stage: Yes 1.42x | No 2.7x

Bosnia and Herzegovina will get the 2026 World Cup underway by squaring off against Canada, and they performed pretty well in the qualifying campaign, finishing with a 5-2-1 record. At the same time, an upset win over Italy in a penalty shootout in qualifying is valuable experience for Bosnia heading into the fray.

At the forefront of their attack, 40-year-old F Edin Dzeko is still a goal-scoring threat, having supplied 6 goals in qualifying. Moreover, 21-year-old MF Esmir Bajraktarevic (a former USMNT selection) figures to be a playmaker in the midfield.

Bosnia and Herzegovina last qualified for the World Cup in 2014, and they failed to make it out of the group stage. While a similar fate is certainly possible in 2026, there’s a sliver of hope with the top eight teams across all groups advancing.

Qatar – World Cup Group B Prediction, Preview

To Win Group B: Yes 22.22x | No N/A

To Qualify for Knockout Stage: Yes 3.44x | No 1.23x

Qatar was the host nation in 2022, and it was the first time they qualified for the World Cup. This time around, Qatar earned their qualification in October via a 10-5-3 record in the AFC qualification process.

According to the FIFA World Rankings, Qatar is ranked 55th, while Bosnia is behind them at 65th. It’s tough to ignore the shortage of experience for Qatar on the world stage.

Back in 2022, Qatar went winless in the group stage, and a similar outcome could be ahead for the previous host nation in this year’s iteration.
