Storm vs. Fever Prediction, Spread, Over/Under – Friday, July 17

After back-to-back first-round playoff exits, the Storm elected against renewing the contract of now-former head coach Noelle Quinn. The Sonia Raman era is off to quite the bumpy start, as the club’s 6-20 record is tracking to be its worst since the franchise’s inception back in 2000.

A putrid offense has Seattle behind the proverbial 8-ball, evidenced by a 42.7% field goal clip and 14.5 turnovers on a nightly basis. Even with four players averaging double figures each time out, it hasn’t been enough to support the overall group.

Since securing consecutive wins against the New York Liberty and Atlanta Dream to close out the month of June, Seattle is just 1-5 and currently occupies the last seed in both the Western Conference and the WNBA as a whole.

The Fever, meanwhile, are tracking to improve their record for the fourth year in a row. Their 14-10 mark may not look like anything crazy on the surface, but head coach Stephanie White’s crew has rallied around one another and is looking to get hot at the right time.

Indiana’s 113.8 offensive rating is tops in franchise history, fueled by guards Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell. The Fever are 5-5 in their last 10, though, and could benefit from more consistency moving forward as they look to climb from tied for first to sole possession of the top spot in Eastern Conference standings.

These squads faced off back on May 17, an 89-78 Fever triumph. They’ll do battle once more on July 28 at Climate Pledge Arena, a bout that will air on ESPN at 9:30 p.m. ET.
