Stephen Curry Injury Update: Is Curry Playing Wednesday vs. Lakers?

Fortunately for the Warriors, Curry didn’t suffer anything resembling a major injury. The 38-year-old is dealing with more of a tweak than anything else, which head coach Steve Kerr acknowledged over the weekend.

Addressing the media on Monday afternoon, Kerr said Curry was a full participant in practice. Kerr expects Curry to start and play in the Dubs’ first regular-season game against Los Angeles on Wednesday (10 p.m. ET on ESPN).

To say this is a big-time relief for Golden State would be an understatement. The 12-time All-Star may have been limited to just 43 games last season, but he showed when active that he’s still one of the more potent forces in the sport. Curry averaged 26.6 PPG in those outings, also shooting 39.3% from beyond the arc on a league-leading 11.2 3-point tries each time out.

Curry’s impact on the Warriors was obvious. According to databallr, the club’s offensive rating dropped from 120.4 with him (4.3 above the league average) to 112.8 (3.4 below average) without him. The defense improved by 3.0, but that still left a healthy +4.6 net swing to underscore his continued stardom.

With Curry seemingly good to go for Wednesday, you can make picks on his PrizePicks projections if he does play. Here are some top Stephen Curry PrizePicks projections:

  • 24.5 Points
  • 7.5 Rebs + Asts
  • 32.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts
  • 3.5 3-PT Made (Goblin)

Warriors Players to Target on PrizePicks vs. Lakers

Curry’s injury isn’t the only one to monitor in Warriors land. Young guard Brandin Podziemski, who’s nursing a back ailment, is questionable for the opener. Signed to a lengthy contract extension to be a centerpiece for Golden State, the 23-year-old’s status is absolutely worth keeping an eye on.

“Podz” played in all 82 games a season ago, doing a little bit of everything by way of averaging 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists and shooting 45.5% from the field. His 25.7% on-ball rate ranked in the 92nd percentile during the regular season.

Elsewhere, how much of the court will rookie F Yaxel Lendeborg see? The former Michigan standout and #11 pick in this summer’s NBA Draft isn’t your typical first-year man, as he turned 24 late last month and is expected to play a huge role right out of the gate until F Jimmy Butler (ACL) returns.

In 40 games with the national title-winning Wolverines last year, Lendeborg put up 15.1 PPG with a 60.2% effective field goal clip. His ability to handle the ball, paired with his feel for the game and effort on defense, likely endeared him to the Dubs pre-draft.

Finally, don’t forget about F Draymond Green. Whether it’s as a small-ball C or a traditional PF, the 36-year-old gives Golden State some versatility in the frontcourt. He played in 68 games last year, posting per-game averages of 8.4 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 5.5 APG. As usual, his impact went beyond the box score.

Green logged 18.3 potential assists per 100 possessions in 2025-26, good for the 100th percentile. He also held opponents to 3.3% worse than league average shooting (79th percentile) with a 2.7% stop rate (72nd percentile). Even in his older age, he’ll play heavy minutes and support Curry and Co. in the Bay Area.

Here are the Warriors players to consider for Wednesday, as well as their best projections on PrizePicks.

  • Brandin Podziemski vs. Lakers: 18.5 Points | 3.5 Asts | 24 Pts + Rebs + Asts
  • Yaxel Lendeborg vs. Lakers: 14.5 Points | 7 Rebs | 10 Rebs + Asts
  • Draymond Green vs. Lakers: 8 Points | 14.5 Pts + Asts | 1.5 Blks + Stls

If Podziemski is available, expect him to be involved in the Dubs’ offensive operation. Given his veteran presence and proven floor, Green is also a viable candidate to do some connective playmaking and ancillary scoring.

On PrizePicks, the Warriors are 6.5-point underdogs on the road for Wednesday night’s game and return a 2.56x payout with a win.

Winner Spread Over/Under
GSW Warriors 2.56x +6.5 | 1.81x o233.5 | 1.81x
LAL Lakers 1.44x -6.5 | 1.92x u233.5 | 1.92x
