Sky vs. Mercury Prediction, Spread, Over/Under – Tuesday, July 7

It’s been a tough first half of the season for both the Sky and Mercury, as both sit in the bottom half of the league standings.

The Mercury, however, have shown a pulse of late, currently on a three-game winning streak with road victories over the Fever and Tempo and a home win last Thursday vs. the Storm. G/F Kahleah Copper has led the team in scoring in each of the last four games.

Overall, Phoenix is still 10th in offensive rating at 107.4, up from 12th before the winning streak. Over the previous two weeks, the Phoenix offensive rating is 123.4, trailing behind the Indiana Fever. On defense, the Mercury are 11th (109.1) overall and seventh over the last two weeks at 108.5.

After playing one game over the past seven days, the Mercury have four games over the next week, which should serve as a good barometer of where they're at and could be going.

As for the Sky, they continue to fall, suffering losses in eight of the past 10 and 13 of the past 16 games since a promising 3-1 start. Their latest defeat came after blowing a late lead against the defending champion Aces in overtime — they went the final 2:12 of regulation without a point.

Chemistry issues may be coming into focus as star G Skylar Diggins, who's started all 19 of her games, will be coming off the bench tonight and took to social media to express her frustration.

Courtney Vandersloot, coming off an ACL injury, will start in Diggins' spot.
