Raptors SF RJ Barrett is recovering from a knee injury ahead of the Raptors’ Tuesday NBA Cup Matchup with the Heat. The former Knick has missed eight consecutive games and could be set to miss even more time in this year’s NBA Cup in-season tournament.

The Raptors have a trio of very effective scoring wings in its starting lineup, and Barrett has been a big reason why the three-headed monster is so productive when he’s healthy. The 25-year-old is averaging 19.4 points on 50.6% shooting.

Below, we’ll provide an RJ Barrett injury update and go over what Raptors players stand out to help you with your lineup additions, plus PrizePicks NBA picks and analysis for the Taco Tuesday promotion on PrizePicks.

RJ Barrett Injury Update vs. Knicks Tonight

Barrett has been ruled out for Tuesday's NBA Cup Quarterfinal and has received a plasma injection to help him recover from the right knee sprain he’s dealing with. Barrett has not played since November 23 vs. the Nets.

Toronto will likely have a tough time snapping its three-game losing streak without Barrett. The team has gone 3-5 since he first suffered his knee injury while averaging a league-low 106.5 points per game.

The Raptors have started Ja'Kobe Walter in Barrett's place in recent games, though Ochai Agbaji played more minutes (22) of the bench than Walter (12) vs. the Celtics on Sunday.

One player in particular stands out as someone who could benefit from Barrett's absence in a big way, but he’s dealing with his own health issues ahead of this Raptors-Knicks NBA Cup pairing.

Who Could Benefit With RJ Barrett Out? Look To Immanuel Quickley?

News broke Tuesday that Raptors PG Immanuel Quickley was downgraded questionable for Tuesday with an illness. Keep an eye on the final injury report for Quickley's final status, as it's still up in the air as of publishing.

Quickley, Toronto’s third leading scorer, hasn’t missed a game this season after playing in just 33 games last year due to injury. Now he’ll get a chance to ramp up his production against his former team at Madison Square Garden.

The Kentucky product’s scoring average (16.5) is the lowest it’s been since his last run with the Knicks in 2023-24. That number has jumped to 18.1 points per game over his previous eight outings without Barrett in the lineup. His shot attempts have gone up from 12.8 per contest to 14.8 per contest since Nov. 24.

Toronto is getting the most it can out of Quickley, as he’s averaging a career-high 32.2 minutes per game this season. He boasts career road averages of 17.7 points, 8.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds against New York through three meetings with the Knicks.

Quickley's creation relative to true shooting percentage is 6.6% above league average, per databallr. That’s a 95th-percentile figure, and he’ll have the ball in his hands plenty as one of his team’s primary initiators on offense — including a slight tick up without Barrett.
