NFL Week 9 Cheat Sheet, NFL Picks & Predictions – Sunday, November 8

Below are the top NFL Week 9 predictions, picks, matchups, and players to target in the PrizePicks cheat sheet, including analysis of QBs, RBs, WRs, and TD scorers.

Unless otherwise noted, this article uses data from Sumer Sports, PFF, Pro Football Reference, and Next Gen Stats.

NFL Week 9 Cheat Sheet: Quarterbacks

Lions QB Jared Goff vs. Dolphins – 261.5 Pass Yards

Miami has been one of the NFL's worst pass defenses, ranking 32nd in EPA per dropback allowed (+0.27) and dead last in passing success rate allowed (53.2%). Goff has generated 765 passing yards off play action, the most in the NFL, and faces a Dolphins defense that ranks 32nd in yards per play allowed against play-action passes.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford vs. Commanders – 252.5 Pass Yards

Washington has surrendered the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks (24.6), creating an excellent opportunity for Stafford. He's 's thrown for 541 passing yards off play action, ranking fifth among QBs. The Commanders rank 28th in yards per play allowed against play action.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert vs. Texans – 208.5 Pass Yards

This one seems crazy, but this Houston defense simply is not the same unit as last year. The Texans have struggled with missed tackles and explosive gains allowed. Houston ranks 25th in defending the deep pass and has permitted QBs to pass for 262.7 yards per game (third most). The unit also allows a 66% completion rate, 25th in the league.

49ers QB Brock Purdy vs. Raiders – 245.5 Pass Yards

Purdy has been one of the NFL's most efficient quarterbacks, ranking second among qualified passers in EPA per dropback (+0.328) and second in dropback success rate (54.1%). Las Vegas ranks 28th in EPA/pass (0.15).

Bears QB Caleb Williams vs. Buccaneers – 245.5 Pass Yards

Williams has been extremely efficient since returning to the lineup, ranking third among qualified quarterbacks in EPA per dropback (+0.320) and second in completion percentage over expected (+7.6%).

NFL Week 9 Cheat Sheet: Running Backs

Cowboys RB Javonte Williams vs. Colts – 72.5 Rush Yards

Williams has been one of the NFL's most elusive backs, forcing 19 missed tackles while averaging 2.75 yards after contact per attempt. Indianapolis allows 103.4 rushing yards per game and rank 31st in the NFL in EPA/rush (0.0).

Browns RB Quinshon Judkins vs. Saints – 48.5 Rush Yards

Your obligatory play RBs vs. the Saints blurb. New Orleans has been one of the NFL's most vulnerable run defenses, surrendering 139.4 rushing yards per game (29th) and 4.8 yards per carry (26th). The Saints also allow a 48.1% rushing success rate, the worst mark in the league.

Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard vs. Broncos – 70.5 Rush Yards

Hubbard has been excellent recently, averaging 87.6 rushing yards per game over his last five contests. He's accumulated 540 yards on 118 carries this season, averaging 4.6 yards per attempt while forcing 23 missed tackles. Denver has struggled mightily with tackling, ranking last in the NFL with 71 missed tackles, creating an excellent opportunity for Hubbard to generate additional yards after contact.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey vs. Raiders – 60.5 Rush Yards

Las Vegas has been one of the NFL's worst run defenses, allowing 5.1 yards per carry and 129.5 rushing yards per game to opposing running backs. The Raiders rank 30th in EPA rushing rate allowed and 31st in total rushing yards surrendered. McCaffrey has averaged 4.6 yards per carry and scored 8 rushing TDs on just 84 attempts. His hamstring status is worth monitoring, but with all the receivers looking likely to miss again this week, he may have a large workload if he goes.

Chiefs RB Kenneth Walker III vs. Jets – 90.5 Rush Yards

Walker is averaging 5.5 yards per attempt, has forced 48 missed tackles, and ranks among the league's best with 3.8 yards after contact per attempt. The Jets are eighth in missed tackle rate and second in blitz rate, giving Walker a chance to exploit their aggressive approach and create extra yards after contact.

NFL Week 9 Cheat Sheet: Receivers

Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown vs. Dolphins – 76.5 Rec Yards

This projection makes no sense to me. Miami has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season and ranks dead last in EPA/pass (0.26).

Rams WR Puka Nacua vs. Commanders – 91.5 Rec Yards

Puka is generating an elite 2.85 yards per route run (95th percentile) and commanding a massive 34.1% target share. Washington is particularly vulnerable to the areas where Puka does his best work; it ranks 26th against short passes, 27th against throws over the middle and 30th against passes to the right side, where 44% of his targets are directed.

The Commanders also sit 23rd in yards after catch allowed — a major concern against a receiver in the 92nd percentile in YAC ability.

Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba vs. Cardinals – 92.5 Rec Yards

Smith-Njigba is an auto click for me anytime he is projected for sub-100 receiving yards. He's averaging 123.1 yards per game and has recorded at least 118 receiving yards in each of his last five contests. Arizona runs zone coverage at the fourth-highest rate in the NFL, while JSN ranks second among wide receivers in production against zone.

Giants WR Malik Nabers vs. Eagles – 72.5 Rec Yards

Nabers deserves more respect than this. He's averaging 107.0 receiving yards over his last five games, and Philadelphia has struggled to limit opposing wide receivers, ranking 29th in receptions allowed per game.

Dolphins TE Greg Dulcich vs. Lions – 39.5 Rec Yards

Dulcich has quietly become a productive part of Miami's passing attack and is coming off consecutive productive performances, catching 5 passes for 86 yards against the Jets before adding 4 receptions for 43 yards against New England. Detroit has given up the most targets (80), receptions (61), and yards (684) to the tight end position in the NFL.

NFL Week 9 Cheat Sheet: Anytime TD Scorers

Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs vs. Dolphins – 0.5 Anytime TDs (Goblin)

Gibbs has been Detroit's primary red zone weapon, leading the NFL with 46 red zone opportunities, including 38 carries, and converting those chances into 9 TDs. Miami has been much bad defensively near the goal line, allowing touchdowns on roughly 64% of opponent red zone trips.

Falcons RB Bijan Robinson vs. Bengals – 0.5 Anytime TDs (Goblin)

Bijan's touchdown appeal starts with his workload inside the 20. He's recorded 18 red zone touches and 3 TDs, including 17 carries inside the 20, giving him a legitimate opportunity to finish Atlanta's scoring drives himself. Cincinnati ranks 27th in yards after contact allowed per rush and uses light boxes at the second-highest rate in the NFL.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving vs. Bears – 0.5 Anytime TDs (Goblin)

Bucky has been a consistent finisher near the goal line, recording 27 red zone carries and 5 rushing touchdowns. Even more encouraging, five of his 11 carries inside the 10-yard line have resulted in touchdowns, showing that he has been converting high-value opportunities. Chicago has allowed touchdowns on approximately 65% of opponent red zone trips and ranks 25th in missed tackle rate in the run game.

Week 9 offers plenty of value in the NFL player picks market, from Jared Goff's passing upside against Miami to Kenneth Walker III's excellent rushing matchup against the Jets.
