Falcons vs. Dolphins Prediction on Winner for NFL Preseason – Friday, August 28

Week 3 of the preseason will likely see starters on both sides seeing the field when the Dolphins host the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that QB Tua Tagovailoa will start against his former team. The plan is for veteran QB Cooper Rush to relieve Tagovailoa, followed by rookie QB Jack Strand to close out the contest.

QB Michael Penix Jr. returned to practice earlier this week, but Stefanski didn’t want to throw Penix right into the fire after only appearing in three 11-on-11 sessions as he recovers from knee surgery.

Elsewhere, the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Cincinnati Bengals in an interconference matchup during Friday’s preseason slate with an 8:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor confirmed that the team’s starters won’t play in Friday’s preseason finale. The likes of QB Joe Burrow, RB Chase Brown, and many others won’t be taking the field as they prepare for the team’s Week 1 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 13. 

Resting their starters could be in the Bengals’ best interest after the team had a scare involving star WR Ja’Marr Chase earlier this week. On Tuesday, Chase hyperextended his knee during practice but isn’t expected to miss any time as a result of the minor injury.

Much like the Bengals, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni doesn’t plan to play any of his starters in Friday’s preseason contest. Philadelphia hasn’t played many of its starters throughout the 2026 preseason, so this doesn't come as much of a surprise.
