NBA Preseason Predictions, Picks Today for PrizePicks – Wednesday, October 7

Beginning with the Timberwolves vs. Pacers tipping off at 7:00 p.m. ET on NBA TV, starters are expected to play, drawing attention to Timberwolves G Anthony Edwards — the latest partner with PrizePicks — and Pacers G Tyrese Haliburton.

Then, the #3 pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, F Cameron Boozer, plays in his second preseason game vs. the Magic at 8:00 p.m. ET. Bulls F Caleb Wilson, who was the #4 pick in the draft, makes his preseason debut at 8:00 p.m. ET with the Warriors.

According to PrizePicks, Boozer (3.7x) and Wilson (4x) have the shortest payouts to win Rookie of the Year in the 2026-27 NBA season.

Finally, the Warriors vs. Trail Blazers round out the schedule with a 10:00 p.m. ET tip-off on NBA TV. On the second night of a back-to-back, Golden State could mainly feature role players, while Trail Blazers G Ja Morant makes his debut in Portland, paired with G Damian Lillard returning from injury.

On PrizePicks, users can predict More or Less for players’ projected stats and earn cash if they’re right. Even in the preseason, the PrizePicks NBA board is full of options, from projected points to combined points + rebounds + assists and made 3-pointers.

Timberwolves G Anthony Edwards vs. Pacers: 14.5 Points

  • The Timberwolves open their preseason with a 116-97 win over the Bucks on Monday. After logging 18 minutes with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists, Anthony Edwards is expected to play tonight despite the quick turnaround.
  • As usual, any preseason predictions should be made with limited minutes in mind. Edwards’ 18 minutes on Monday was a far cry from 35.0 minutes per game from the 2025-26 regular season.
  • However, Minnesota wasn’t shy about feeding Edwards volume, as he took 13 field goal attempts. That’s 0.7 shots per minute, surpassing 0.6 per minute from last regular season.
  • Edwards is looking to shake off rust after making only 4 of 13 (30.8%) attempts and 1 of 7 (14.3%) 3-pointers on Monday.
  • He comes off career-best efficiency in 2025-26, with a 48.9% field goal percentage and 39.9% from deep. If his volume continues tonight, this projection is within reach with better efficiency.
Add Anthony Edwards to your PrizePicks lineup now.

Pacers G Tyrese Haliburton vs. Timberwolves: 9.5 Points

  • It’s been about one year and four months since Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles in the 2025 NBA Finals vs. the Thunder. He’s healthy and expected to play tonight, which takes place in his old stomping grounds at Iowa State’s Hilton Coliseum.
  • Pacers fans got a brief look at Haliburton during Indiana’s FanJam scrimmage, where he logged 8 points on 3-of-6 shooting.
  • However, this is a scrimmage with a low competition level, and frankly, the same can be said for the preseason. Regardless, the Pacers may look to take it slow before the regular season.
  • The last time we saw Haliburton in the regular season, he was attempting 13.8 shots per game. That translated to about 0.4 shots per minute. In a limited preseason role, low volume could be ahead.
Pick Tyrese Haliburton + Pacers to win on PrizePicks.

Grizzlies F Cameron Boozer vs. Magic: 22.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts

  • If there’s one thing we know about Cameron Boozer, he’s going to stuff the stat sheet. At Duke, Boozer’s elite versatility with 22.5 PPG, 10.2 RPG, and 4.1 APG earned him a high draft stock.
  • In his preseason debut, Boozer logged 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
  • He went 0 of 3 on 3-pointers in his preseason debut, but Boozer drained 40.6% of his looks during the Summer League.
  • After tallying 18.0 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 3.8 APG in the Summer League, more gaudy box scores could be ahead.
  • That’s further backed by an impressive 21.4% assist rate (90th percentile) at the Summer League, per The 5th Factor. Boozer could be the straw that stirs the Grizzlies’ offense this season.
Pick More or Less for Cameron Boozer on PrizePicks.

Bulls F Caleb Wilson vs. Suns: 13.5 Points

  • Wednesday is Caleb Wilson’s first preseason appearance, and he did plenty in the Summer League to leave a lasting impressive — recording 23.5 PPG with a 59.6% effective field goal percentage (78th percentile).
  • Wilson’s ability to finish around the rim with a 77.3% mark in the split (85th percentile) and his 56.8% 2-point percentage (66th percentile) weren’t surprises.
  • However, his 3-point shot was highlighted as a weakness after shooting 25.9% with 1.1 attempts per game at North Carolina. During the Summer League, Wilson’s 3-point volume skyrocketed to 7.8 per game while he cashed in 41.9% of his shots from beyond the arc.
  • If Wilson truly has a consistent 3-point shot this season, he immediately becomes a player flirting with 20.0 PPG for the Bulls.
Add Caleb Wilson to your PrizePicks lineup now.

Trail Blazers G Ja Morant vs. Warriors: 10.5 Points

  • After the Grizzlies traded Ja Morant in June, he makes his debut in Portland tonight. Trail Blazers G Shaedon Sharpe is expected to miss a few months following offseason knee surgery, but this is still a crowded backcourt with G Damian Lillard, G Jrue Holiday, and G Scoot Henderson alongside Ja.
  • Frankly, a bench role could await Morant, and that may mean taking fewer shots than expected.
  • Morant shot a career-low 41.0% in the 2025-26 season. Further, he’s shot under 31.0% on 3-pointers in four consecutive seasons since sporting 34.4% in 2021-22.
  • According to databallr, Morant had a 51.8% true shooting percentage that finished in the 28th percentile last season. Unless Ja drastically improves his efficiency, potential low volume is alarming for his point projections this season.
Pick Ja Morant + Trail Blazers to win on PrizePicks.
