Knicks vs. Spurs Prediction, Spread, Over/Under

New York has had a few close calls recently, but has managed to win its last three games by 4 points or less. The Knicks faced fourth-quarter deficits in two of those matchups, but PG Jalen Brunson’s scoring down the stretch has helped them get over the finish line when they’re in a pinch. Brunson is on track to record a career-high 29.4 points per game so for this season. He isn’t the only Knick putting the ball in the basket consistently and could be asked to do a little less now that G Miles McBride is back from a lengthy layoff caused by an ankle injury.

C Karl-Anthony Towns is among the six other New York players who are averaging 10.0 points or more. That production has helped the Knicks post the leagues’ fourth-highest scoring average (120.8). They’re thriving under the leadership of head coach Mike Brown, but will likely be tested against one of the league’s brightest up-and-coming superstars on Wednesday.

C Victor Wembanyama has re-entered the starting lineup for the first time since he suffered a calf injury in November. The Spurs lost both of those contests, but the big man averaged 29.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3 blocks. His presence has helped maximize San Antonio’s defensive potential.

The Spurs are giving up 118.6 points per game without Wembanyama this season, but that number plummets to 110.7 when he’s available. San Antonio’s scoring defense with Wembanyama would rank second in the NBA, behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. Wembanyama still appears to be on a minutes restriction, but his return to the starting lineup could put more pressure on New York in round two of this matchup.

G/F Josh Hart (ankle), G Landry Shamet (shoulder), and C Mitchell Robinson (ankle) have been ruled out for the Knicks, while C Ariel Hukporti (lips) is questionable and PG Tyler Kolek (ankle) is probable. F Devin Vassell (hip) has been ruled out for the Spurs and G Stephon Castle (thumb) is questionable.

Enjoy a Knicks vs. Spurs Prediction on PrizePicks

The Knicks and Spurs are set to face off for the second time this year. New York took the first matchup in the NBA Cup Finals, but now Victor Wembanyama is back in the starting lineup. The Spurs’ star big man could be poised to put up an impressive stat line in a third straight contest as he looks to even the season series at 1-1. Jalen Brunson and company won’t make that easy despite their struggles on the road, though.
