Jannik Sinner celebrates a point against Novak Djokovic during the Wimbledon.

On Sunday, we'll get the Wimbledon men's final many expected before the tournament began, as the top two seeds, Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev, will square off for the title.

Sinner is the defending Wimbledon champion and is the favorite to lift the trophy again. The Italian is riding a nine-match win streak against Zverev, and all those victories have come since 2024.

However, the German is fresh off winning his first Grand Slam title at this year’s French Open, and this will now be his fifth career major final. Could Zverev finally flip the script in what's been a one-sided rivalry?

Below, we’ll break down our Jannik Sinner vs. Alexander Zverev prediction in the men’s Wimbledon final on July 12, including recent form, match analysis, and a PrizePicks pick for the 2026 Wimbledon men’s final.

The Sinner vs. Zverev final is slated to start at 11 a.m. ET. Sunday’s Wimbledon final will air on ESPN and the ESPN App.

Jannik Sinner lost four of his first five matches against Alexander Zverev early in his career, but it’s been one-way traffic since his victory at the 2024 Cincinnati Open, beginning a string of nine straight victories over the German.

Further strengthening the case for Sinner is the form he just showed in the semifinals, a dominant 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic simply had no answers for the world No. 1, as Sinner's serve completely took the Serbian out of the match.

Jannik racked up 16 aces while winning 88% of his first serve points and 61% of his second serve points. Djokovic had only one break point opportunity the entire match, which was swiftly squashed by a Sinner ace.

Zverev has performed well here, though, snapping a seven-match losing streak against a partially compromised Taylor Fritz and then dispatching British Cinderella story Arthur Fery, both in straight sets.

Rather than suffering a letdown after winning his first major title, the German has built on that success by reaching his first Wimbledon final. Before this year, he had never advanced beyond the fourth round.

Still, due to the lopsided head-to-head, Zverev will have to overcome a major mental hurdle to have a chance against Sinner, and he’ll have to do so at the major where he’s had the least success.

While the two have never met on grass, the Italian owns the stronger track record on the surface, with a 74.4% career win rate and two titles, compared to the German's 66.7% win rate and no titles.

Dating back to 2024, Sinner is 19-5 in finals, with those five losses all coming against Carlos Alcaraz. He’s also won nine finals in a row, two of which came at Zverev’s expense.

According to Tennis Abstract’s Elo ratings, Sinner ranks first on grass while Zverev is fourth. However, there’s roughly a 175-point difference between the two.

Sinner's grip on this rivalry has only tightened over time, as the Italian has won the last six matches in straight sets, four of which have come in 2026.

Since Jannik went five sets in the first round, he’s won the last five matches in straight sets. Those victories have totaled 36, 29, 31, 34, and 30 games.

Zverev is 1-14 lifetime against top-five opponents in majors. All of those matches have come on hard and clay courts, the German’s stronger surfaces.
