Chelsea vs. Man City Prediction, Preview for EPL – Sunday, April 12

Liam Rosenior and Chelsea are set to host Pep Guardiola’s Man City at Stamford Bridge for the second and final meeting between these two clubs this season. Chelsea managed to steal a point the first time these teams met, after Enzo Fernández found the back of the net with a 94th-minute equalizer at the Etihad.

Both clubs have been among the Premier League’s best this season; however, Chelsea's poor run of form before the international break has fans questioning the club's direction. Chelsea lost four straight games across all competitions before returning from the break and defeating Port Vale 7-0 in the FA Cup.

The Blues will be looking for their first EPL win in over a month, winning just one of their four league matches in March. On the flip side, Man City enters the game with a bit more confidence after defeating Arsenal and Liverpool in back-to-back games, albeit in the EFL and FA Cup.

City’s form in the League has been as good as anybody, losing just one game since the start of the New Year. With the season quickly coming to an end, every point will matter for Guardiola and Co. in their journey to overtake Arsenal on the EPL table.

The Sky Blues are likely glad that Rosenior and the Chelsea board issued Fernandez a two-game suspension due to comments he made about his future during the international break. Chelsea’s hero from the previous matchup will miss this game, along with captain Reece James, who reaggravated a lingering hamstring injury back in March.

City will be thin at the back with Guardiola’s three defenders, John Stones, Josko Gvardiol, and Ruben Dias, all slated to miss this match.
