Caitlin Clark Injury Update: Latest News, Timeline Ahead of Fever vs. Aces
Clark is officially listed as out for Sunday’s game against the Aces due to a back injury, according to the WNBA’s official injury report.
In the first half of the team’s June 24 game against the Phoenix Mercury, Clark was down on the floor and was hit in the throat area by Mercury F Alyssa Thomas. Clark ended up staying in the game but was forced to leave in the third quarter after falling on a 3-point shot.
As a result of the incident, Thomas was suspended for one game and given a Flagrant 2 foul. Since Clark suffered the injury, the Fever have been very cautious with her health, and she has yet to return to the court.
Clark returned to practice on Friday but missed the team’s June 27 game against the Los Angeles Sparks. She has missed one game since being sidelined with her recent back injury.
"Again, one day at a time,” Fever head coach Stephanie White said. She continued, “Make sure that when you go out there, you don't have any symptoms, any challenges or any setbacks ... So that's the goal, but again, we'll continue to take it one day at a time."
Clark has previously dealt with back issues entering the 2026 season but has only missed two games this season. This comes after the former Iowa star missed 31 games during the 2025 campaign due to injury.
In 17 games, Clark has been sensational for the Fever, averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 34.4% from beyond the arc. Clark had been enjoying an abundance of success recently, averaging 23.2 PPG and 9.0 APG on 35.3% from deep over her last five contests.
The Fever have an 11-8 record entering Sunday’s game, which is good for second place in the Eastern Conference behind the New York Liberty. Following Sunday’s contest, Indiana won’t play until Wednesday when they take on the Sparks in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, the Aces will also be without one of their top assets, with C A’ja Wilson (leg) being listed as out.

What Fever Players to Target on PrizePicks With Clark Out?
With Clark set to miss Sunday’s game, it’s clear that the Fever will be without one of their top offensive options. The talented guard can affect the game from the perimeter and is a tremendous facilitator.
According to databallr, Clark contributes 4.2 points per 100 possessions to the Fever’s offense when she’s on the court. In addition, Clark can create her own offense, averaging 14.1 points on unassisted shots, which ranks in the 96th percentile.
Clark also spends 46.4% of her time on the court on the ball (98th percentile), proving to be the team’s top ball-handler. The sharpshooting guard has also averaged 9.0 APG over her last five contests, outperforming her 8.2 APG season average. Mitchell scored 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting against the Sparks without Clark in the lineup on June 27.
It’s certainly not surprising that the Fever take a step back without Clark and her playmaking ability on the floor. With Clark being unavailable for Sunday’s contest, who could step up in her absence against the Aces?
G Kelsey Mitchell is the obvious choice considering that she has had no problem filling up the stat sheet this season. The four-time WNBA All-Star has averaged a team-best 21.6 PPG, coming on a career-high 49.5% shooting from the field and 40.2% from beyond the arc.
C Aliyah Boston has also been extremely productive with Indiana, averaging 17.0 PPG and a team-high 8.6 RPG on the season. Boston has taken a considerable leap in shooting from the perimeter, averaging a career-best 42.6% on 3-pointers, paired with a career-high 2.6 attempts per game.
G Sophie Cunningham has also proven to be a key reserve for Indiana throughout the 2026 campaign. In a bench role, Cunningham has averaged 9.6 PPG and is connecting on 41.7% of her shots from long range.
Here are the Fever players who may benefit most on PrizePicks with Clark out, as well as their stat projections for tonight.
- G Kelsey Mitchell vs. Aces: 23.5 Points / 2.5 Assists (Goblin) / 29 Pts + Rebs + Asts
- C Aliyah Boston vs. Aces: 17.5 Points / 7.5 Rebounds (Goblin) / 3.5 Assists
- G Sophie Cunningham vs. Aces: 9.5 Points / 12.5 Pts + Rebs / 2.5 3-pointers Made (Demon)
Even when Clark is in the lineup, Mitchell has been one of the Fever’s top scoring options and could be in line for an increase in production without Clark in the lineup.
