Brazil's Raphinha scores his side's opening goal against Colombia from the penalty spot during a FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying soccer match at Mane Garrincha stadium in Brasilia, Brazil, Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Brazil is back in World Cup action tonight vs. Haiti at 8:30 p.m. ET on FOX, in what is expected to be Brazil’s easiest matchup of their Group C games.

In Friday’s Brazil vs. Haiti match, Canarinho will be hungry to get 3 points after a disappointing draw vs. a tough Morocco team. Meanwhile, Haiti enters as a massive underdog here, coming off a 1-0 loss to Scotland, where they dominated possession and shots, but couldn't net one.

The scales are tipped heavily in Brazil’s favor, ranked No. 7 in our latest World Cup rankings, while Haiti comes in at No. 41. Anything less than a 2-goal win margin for Brazil would be a concern for their long-term outlook in the tournament.

Below, we’ll give you our top Brazil vs. Haiti picks on players for PrizePicks for Vinícius Júnior, Raphinha, and more, plus the tactics for both teams to win on Friday night.

Brazil Team Preview: How BRA Wins vs. Haiti in World Cup 2026

I don’t want to make any assumptions, but Brazil has to be fired up in this match after a disappointing draw vs. Morocco.

Morocco is a competitive team in this World Cup, and played an impressive game. But Brazil gave such a poor, sluggish performance that it prompted manager Carlo Ancelotti to apologize to the country’s fans.

Now that they escaped with a draw, they get a layup vs. Haiti, FIFA's No. 85-ranked team, which provides a chance to get their offense in better form.

Their best way to do that will be to continue to work through the wings, which is where they had the most success vs. Morocco.

Haiti allowed Scotland to complete 5 open-play crosses — and that’s from a team that prefers to play through the middle, generally. Brazil should have no problem overwhelming Haiti’s fullbacks and driving balls into the box.

If they do that, especially in transition periods, Brazil should overwhelm Haiti in the box, especially if they are given any space.

On the defensive end, it’s going to be important for Brazil to put clamps on Haiti midfielders Danley Jean Jacque and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde in any build up; against Scotland, they completed 88% of passes, with 84 line breaks. Brazil should — and likely will — apply a ton more pressure than Scotland.

Brazil applied 315 total pressures and 54 direct pressures vs. Morocco, compared to Scotland’s 230 and 39 vs. Haiti. That pressure can force Haiti into rushed clearances and turnovers that break down their offense before it gets to the final third.

Lastly, look for Brazil to attack the left side of the Haiti defense, where Raphinha should make easy work of Martin Expérience, who was one of the most active players going forward vs. Scotland. That could leave room behind for Raphinha or overlapping runs from Danilo.

Haiti Team Preview: How Les Grenadiers Win vs. Brazil in World Cup 2026

Even without Brazil in top form in their opening match vs. Morocco, it’s hard to find a path to Haiti winning this match vs. one of the tournament favorites. After all, this is Haiti’s first appearance at the World Cup since 1974 — so any result here vs. Brazil would be a huge win.

It’s true that Brazil were absolutely vulnerable against Morocco. Brazil allowed 14 shots, 149 final-third receptions, and 1.33 expected goals in that 1-1 draw, so this is not a Brazil side that looked completely locked down in its opener.

Against Scotland, Les Grenadiers had 51.6% possession and 15 attempts on goal (with only two on target). They crossed it in 26 times (10 more than Scotland), and spent 19% of their offensive time in the final third (vs. Scotland’s 9%).

That is just simply not going to be possible vs. a team like Brazil, with deadly weapons on both wings to keep the defense occupied, and a strong defensive presence with Marquinhos and Casemiro in the middle.

Against Scotland, Haiti was able to play a lot of defense in a mid block (25%). Their best hope is to sit back further than they did vs. Scotland, defend cleanly, and get a few wins on the transition with the speed of Ruben Providence and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

Haiti can look to the fact that Brazil hasn’t kept a clean sheet in six straight matches. But even if they can take advantage of their speed or a set piece to strike a goal, Haiti’s margin for error is tiny. They can’t afford cheap turnovers in buildup, failed clearances, or loose defensive spacing in wide areas.

Brazil vs. Haiti Picks, Player Stats for World Cup Today

Here are the top Brazil vs. Haiti picks to target on PrizePicks based on player stats ahead of this World Cup match, including Vinícius Júnior and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

Make your World Cup picks on PrizePicks now for Brazil vs. Haiti! Every Soccer pick enters you to win a trip for 2 to the WC Final!

Brazil LW Vinícius Júnior – 3.5 Shots

  • Viní Jr. averaged 3.19 shots per 90 in La Liga this season, under this projection.
  • He had 1 shot vs. Morocco in Matchday 1, often opting for an additional pass rather than taking the shots himself.
  • If Brazil dominate possession, Vinicius can rack up touches, passes, carries, fouls drawn, and crosses without needing 4 shots.
  • Across his last 19 appearances for Brazil, Viní Jr. has not shown to be a volume shot taker, notching 4 shots in just three games — all during CONMEBAL qualifying.
  • 34.5 passes attempted may be another pick worth targeting, as Viní Jr. had 32 passes attempted vs. Morocco, plus 4 crosses and 61 offers to receive.
  • Viní Jr. also many of which came on the outside, which allows room for additional passes.

Brazil RW Raphinha – 5 Crosses

  • Raphinha racked up 6 crosses vs. Morocco in the World Cup opener.
  • Again, that came in a game where Brazil lost the possession battle.
  • Brazil clearly wants to play on the edges and cross the ball into the box; they had 19 total crosses vs. Morocco, and 13 open-play crosses, per FIFA.
  • Haiti allowed Scotland to succeed from the wide areas on the attack, as the Scots attempted 16 total crosses, and complete 5-of-11 open-play crosses — Brazil may be able to do so even more successfully.
  • As noted above, the Brazil advantage is to play through the wings and expose the Haitian fullbacks if they push up the field or play in a mid-block defense.

Brazil CM Lucas Paquetá – 42.5 Passes Attempted

  • Check the final lineup (live on Playbook around 7 p.m ET), as Paquetá could potentially be swapped out of the starting XI.
  • If Paquetá starts in a central midfield position as expected by Fotmob, he will be at the center of distributing for Brazil.
  • Paquetá had 40 passes attempted vs. Morocco, despite Brazil only having 46.7% of possession and Paquetá coming off in the 61st minute.
  • Brazil averaged 62.1% possession in CONMEBOL qualifying.
  • At Flamengo in Brazil’s Serie A this year, Paquetá averaged 44.4 successful passes per 90 minutes, per Fotmob.
  • In 2024-25 Copa America, Paquetá averaged 43 passes per 90 minutes.

Haiti MF Jean-Ricner Bellegarde – 39.5 Passes Attempted

  • This is the only projection for Bellegarde that offers both a More or Less on PrizePicks, offering a unique opportunity if you think Brazil puts clamps on Haiti’s attack.
  • Bellegarde was huge to Haiti controlling possession vs. Scotland, with 62 pass attempts.
  • In that game, Haiti spent 19% of their attacking time in the final third — and 51.6% of the game with possession.
  • That’s elevated these numbers, as Haiti will now go from facing Scotland to facing a top five World Cup team in Brazil.
  • If Haiti is pinned deep and can’t hold possession in the build up, it seems difficult for Bellegarde to get a volume of passes off.
  • Bellegarde is available at 0.5 shots (Goblin pick), which is more doable for the midfielder; he shot 3 times vs. Scotland, all from outside the box.
  • If he gets the ball with a bit of space above the box, he won’t be afraid to let it rip.
Combine Haiti + Bellegarde Passes on PrizePicks for bigger payouts!

After a draw in Matchday 1, it is absolutely imperative for Brazil to get three points in what should be their easiest matchup of the group stage.

As for Haiti, this is going to be a different beast than their opener vs. Scotland. Just keeping this game vs. Brazil tight would be a win, and they’ll need to play incredibly clean soccer just to stay in contention.
