As Week 4 of the NFL rolls on, the scoring output of the league continues to hold steady. For the second consecutive year, an average of 2.56 touchdowns are being put up by each club on a weekly basis, setting the scene for plenty of fireworks this weekend.

Sunday Night Football’s clash between the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers is no different. Despite the 2-1 visitors being 3.5-point favorites on PrizePicks, the 1-2 hosts remain a formidable foe and have a QB who’s playing some of the best football of his career. Which stars may find the end zone in prime time?

Below, we'll highlight our best Lions vs. Panthers Anytime TD scorer predictions for Sunday Night Football, including three players who could reach the end zone.

Lions vs. Panthers Anytime TD Scorer Picks for Sunday Night Football – October 4

Even in a post-Ben Johnson world, this Lions offense is still quite potent. Ahead of Week 4’s Sunday slate, it ranked fifth and eighth, respectively, in points and yards per drive. It’s hard to find a much better collection of talent than QB Jared Goff, RB Jahmyr Gibbs, WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, and TE Sam LaPorta.

On the other sideline, the Panthers are 12th in both regards and rank 14th in dropback EPA per play, via RBSDM. Although Carolina lost RB Jonathon Brooks due to injury and has WRs Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette banged up, head coach Dave Canales’ group has the upside of an NFC South winner and a squad that undoubtedly could give the Lions a run for their money.

That begs the question, though, of who will be the ones to provide the scoring in one of the most anticipated games of the week. Fortunately for football fans, PrizePicks has many options covered when it comes to Anytime TD picks.

Anytime TDs on PrizePicks include rushing, receiving, recoveries, and returns. PrizePicks often list Anytime TDs as Demons and Goblins, meaning users can only select "More." For standard projections, users can select “More” or “Less.”

Demons are tougher to win but are the only way to get higher payouts. Meanwhile, Goblins are lower than a standard projection, but they are easier to win, so there’s a lower payout.

Winner Spread Over/Under
DET Lions 1.47x -3.5 | 1.81x o50.5 | 1.81x
CAR Panthers 2.56x +3.5 | 1.92x u50.5 | 1.92x

Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs vs. Panthers: 0.5 Anytime TDs (Goblin)

  • Through three games, no player has more touches (83) or TDs (6) or has been responsible for converting more first downs (23) than Gibbs.
  • In Week 3’s win over the New York Jets, Gibbs logged an amazing 25.8% target share (97th percentile), 3.10 yards per route run (94th), 69.0% carry share (84th), and 4.95 yards per tote (72nd).
  • Gibbs’ 18 red-zone rushing attempts make up 90% of available totes for Detroit in that scenario and trail only Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry for the most in the sport.
  • Rolling into Week 4, Gibbs’ red-zone expected and actual fantasy scores stood far and away clear of any other NFL RB.
  • Prior to Thursday Night Football, the Panthers’ defense was dead last in rushing yards per carry, rushing TDs, and runs of 20+ yards allowed.
Add Jahmyr Gibbs + Lions to win to your PrizePicks lineup now.

Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown vs. Panthers: 0.5 Anytime TDs

  • Per SumerSports, among WRs with 25+ routes on the year, St. Brown’s 32.41% target share sits third.
  • The sixth-year man is absolutely feasting against man coverage, averaging 0.50 targets and 4.06 yards per route run.
  • Courtesy of Pro Football Focus, the Goff-St. Brown combination has contributed to 13 first downs, 0.34 EPA/play, and a 126.0 passer rating.
  • ARSB enters Sunday’s play tied with reigning Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba for the most targets (9) in the red zone. He’s converted by way of 8 receptions and 4 TDs.
  • Carolina has placed CBs Jaycee Horn (quad) and Mike Jackson (groin) on injured reserve before this matchup, leaving the secondary in a precarious position against a top-10 wideout.

Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard vs. Lions: 0.5 Anytime TDs

  • The 27-year-old is breaking off 3.0 yards before contact per attempt, his most since 2022 (3.1) and the second-highest figure of his career.
  • Hubbard’s logged 71.4% of possible rushing attempts for Carolina inside the 10-yard line and its only one inside the 5-yard line.
  • Detroit’s run defense sits second-to-last in EPA/play (0.045) and 18th in success rate (40.6%) given up.
  • No RB with at least a half-dozen targets has a higher passer rating when thrown to than Hubbard at 141.9.

Everyone is familiar with Detroit’s high-powered offense by now and has grown to almost expect points to fill up the scoreboard. This Carolina team is a force to be reckoned with as well, though, and might just be able to keep pace if playmakers like Hubbard deliver on the hype.
