However, The Weeknd is performing a concert series that has forced the move of the match to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales—which is not the first time it’s had to be relocated.

The match annually features the reigning Premier League champion. They face off against either the winner of the FA Cup, or if one club won both competitions, they would face the Premier League runners-up from the last season. Additionally, the match will not feature extra time. If the sides are tied after 90 minutes, the winner is then decided in a penalty shootout. 

Arsenal finally got their long-awaited Premier League trophy. After a summer of celebrations and World Cup action, they now enter the season with the target on their backs. But the summer hasn’t been kind to them.

A back injury to CB William Saliba at the World Cup is a massive blow to the side, and he will miss potentially the entire first half of the campaign. They’re also dealing with RB Jurrien Timber’s groin injury, as he was hurt just before the tournament began.

England and Spain both made deep runs in the tournament, which means the likes of CM Declan Rice, RW Bukayo Saka, and CM Martin Zubimendi have yet to feature in the preseason and are unlikely to start. While they may feature off the bench, their minutes will be limited.

Arsenal have made just one major offseason move, the acquisition of Newcastle CM Bruno Guimaraes. His presence will help Rice immensely, given the workload his body has endured the past year.

For Manchester City, this has been a summer of change. Pep Guardiola is gone, with Enzo Maresca now in charge of the club. Manchester City will be without CM Tijani Reijnders, who is about to accept a move to the Saudi Pro League. LW Savinho is likely about to complete his own move to Tottenham but could participate in Sunday’s affair.

Their newest big signing, CM Eliot Anderson, is expected to come off the bench as he also got a rest after England’s World Cup run. As for ST Erling Haaland, he just returned to training this week and likely will only feature in a cameo role.

These lineup changes make for an interesting matchup. Arsenal built their success on the back of terrific defense and ball control, but the absence of Saliba is a massive blow. Rice's and Saka’s availability also robs Arsenal of much of their creative force.

For City, they often struggled to generate goals without Haaland last season. ST Omar Marmoush was disappointing both in-season and at the World Cup for Egypt, so they may need to rely on RW Antoine Semenyo and LW Jeremy Doku for chances on Sunday.
