Account Eligibility
Can I use PrizePicks where I live?
In order to use the PrizePicks app, you must be at least 18, 19, or 21 years of age, depending on the eligible jurisdiction where you reside. Once you have created an account, you will need to follow the rules of the region where you are physically located while accessing the app.
There are several different types of picks available on the PrizePicks app, from single event predictions to Daily Fantasy Sports lineups. See below for basic overview of each pick type, and which regions have access:
Player Picks - Build a Lineup of 2-6 athletes and win or lose based on how well your picks perform against those placed by other PrizePicks users.
Team Picks - Pick one of two potential outcomes for a sporting event, including winner, spread, or total points.
Culture Picks - Pick one of two potential outcomes for a cultural event.
Free2Play Contests (Free Picks) - A free competition that pays out tier-based rewards depending on how many right predictions you make for an event.
PrizePicks Streak (Free Picks) - A free game mode where you make one selection each day. If you are correct, you extend your streak by one day and build up toward a higher reward. If you are incorrect, you start over at 0.
US residents in the following states will have access to all pick types:
18+ in Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, and Utah.
19+ in Alabama.
Access to Player Picks, Culture Picks, and Free Picks, but NOT Team Picks:
18+ in Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming, & Washington D.C.
19+ in Colorado
21+ in Arizona, Massachusetts, and Virginia.
Access to Team Picks, Culture Picks, and Free Picks, but NOT Player Picks:
18+ in Washington, Idaho, Hawaii, Montana, and Mississippi.
Access to Culture Picks and Free Picks ONLY:
18+ in New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio, and Maryland.
Access to Player Picks and Free Picks ONLY:
18+ in California, Florida, Rhode Island, Wisconsin and Canada (excluding Ontario).
PrizePicks may not be accessible outside the areas listed above. There may also be regional limitations within states where PrizePicks is otherwise available. If you live in an area where PrizePicks does not operate, you will be unable to create an account.
If you already have an account but are physically located in an ineligible area, you will not be able to access the PrizePicks platform. This restriction will apply until you physically return to an eligible region.
If you live in an ineligible region, don’t give up hope! Regulations are constantly changing, and we expect to expand into more areas as time goes on. Keep an eye out for updates and announcements regarding regional restrictions and eligibility.
Do all states have the same rules?
No. Rules vary depending on state and region. PrizePicks Members physically located in:
Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Vermont: May not submit Player Pick lineups that include college sports.
Arkansas, New Hampshire: May not submit Player Pick lineups containing college sports, and all lineups must include full-game projections (i.e. no 2H, 4Q, or any other projection that covers less than the full sporting event).
Illinois: May not submit Player Pick lineups containing college athletes that play within the state of Illinois.
Connecticut: May not submit Player Pick lineups containing college athletes that play within the state of Connecticut.
Delaware: May not submit Player Pick lineups containing college athletes that play within the state of Delaware.
Missouri: All Player Pick lineups must include full-game projections (i.e. no 2H, 4Q, or any other projection that covers less than the full sporting event).
Colorado: All Player Pick lineups must include a minimum of 3 projection squares to be eligible.
Do all Members have the same rules?
For the most part, yes, you'll be on equal footing with other Members who are submitting the same types of picks as you. There are a few notable exceptions though, which are detailed below:
Age-based Deposit Limits: We’re always excited to welcome new Members to PrizePicks!
In an effort to encourage healthy habits for app usage, PrizePicks offers various Responsible Gaming tools which allow Members to set personalized limits for themselves. Research on app usage has shown that regular breaks and activity limits enhance the overall experience. That's the kind of positive and enjoyable experience we want for all our Members.
For our youngest Members, specifically 18, 19, and 20 year-olds, we go a step further. All accounts belonging to Members in this age range will have a mandatory monthly deposit limit automatically applied in the amounts below:
18 years of age - $1,500.00 per month
19 years of age - $3,000.00 per month
20 years of age - $5,000.00 per month
Limits are determined by current age as listed on the government-issued identification provided at signup. Limits will automatically reset at the beginning of each calendar month and will automatically increase on the Member's date of birth.
Promo Eligibility: To be eligible for a promo offer, a Member must be notified directly by the PrizePicks team via email or in the app.
If you have not received any notification for a specific promotional offer, that typically means you are not eligible. Promos cannot be shared, duplicated, or reused.
A number of different factors go into our promo eligibility. And while we can't give away all our trade secrets, we can tell you that each Member will have a unique promo journey on PrizePicks, and we're always in the lab cooking up exciting new experiences for our entire Member base.
