World Series Game 4 Picks for Blue Jays vs. Dodgers: Ohtani vs. Shane Bieber

Down 2-1 in the World Series, the Toronto Blue Jays enter Game 4 against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night knowing the stakes couldn’t be higher.

In a best-of-seven format, falling behind 3-1 would leave them with little margin for error. History shows that only six teams have clawed back from that deficit to capture a championship.

The Blue Jays will turn to veteran SP Shane Bieber on Tuesday night, looking to silence the Dodgers’ bats and even the series. First pitch is scheduled for 8:07 p.m. ET at Dodger Stadium, live on FOX.

Can Toronto give itself a fighting chance, or will SP Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers move to one win away from another World Series title

Below, we'll give you our World Series Game 4 prediction and Blue Jays vs. Dodgers picks for Tuesday night, including same-game player projections for PrizePicks.

World Series Game 4 Picks: Blue Jays vs. Dodgers Predictions

Monday night's Game 3 thriller gave fans twice the baseball, lasting 18 innings into the wee hours of Tuesday. After both sides went scoreless for 10 innings in a row, it was the Dodgers that ultimately prevailed via a walk-off home run by 1B Freddie Freeman.

Los Angeles and Toronto combined for 31 hits in Game 3, setting the stage for a quick turnaround on Tuesday night.

Los Angeles Dodgers Preview vs. Blue Jays

After dropping Game 1 to the Blue Jays, the Dodgers' offense has come alive, exploding for 11 runs over the last two games.

The spark has come from Ohtani, who is having a dominant series. In just 12 at-bats, he's launched 3 home runs, driven in 5 RBIs, and collected 6 total hits, showing why he’s one of the most feared hitters in baseball.

Backing him up is Will Smith, who’s delivering when it matters most. The Dodgers' catcher has 4 hits and 4 RBIs in the series, continuing to be a steady force in the middle of the order. Smith is now batting close to .300 in the postseason, providing timely offense and clutch production.

Dodgers will pitch Shohei Ohtani tonight, whose 2.21 xFIP ranks second among starters with more than one start in this postseason. That is in line with his home stats from this year, as he strikes out 38.5% of hitters at home (vs. 29.1% on the road) and has a 2.17 xFIP.

Toronto Blue Jays Preview vs. Dodgers

Despite a strong postseason run leading into the World Series, Toronto’s offense has started to cool off. 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr., however, remains locked in.

Coming into the series batting .442, Guerrero added 4 more hits across the first three games, staying hot and consistently getting on base for the Jays. The rest of the lineup has struggled.

OF George Springer has just 1 hit in his last six plate appearances, failing to deliver the clutch moments fans are used to seeing. More importantly, the Jays leadoff hitter left Monday's game in the middle of an at-bat in the seventh inning and went in for an MRI after the game.

Fellow OF Davis Schneider has also been a major disappointment. In 16 postseason at-bats, he’s collected just 3 hits while striking out 6 times, hitting below .200 and providing zero offensive spark for Toronto.

On the mound, the Blue Jays will pitch ace Shane Bieber, making his 11th start of the season. He has been a bit shaky — albeit it unlucky — during the postseason. In three starts, Bieber has a 3.06 xFIP in the playoffs, much lower than his 4.38 ERA, though he has given up a home run in each of his last two starts. His best start of the postseason came on the road vs. Seattle, where he went 6 IP, giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs on 88 pitches.

He did just enough through 3.2 innings of work (2 ER, 7 H) to keep the Blue Jays alive in ALCS Game 7, before Springer gave the Jays the lead for good in the 7th inning.
