2026 Wimbledon Predictions, Tennis Picks – Thursday, July 2 (Day 4)

Before we get into our Wimbledon predictions for Thursday, here’s a quick look at the three matches we’re focusing on and the consensus favorites on PrizePicks Team Picks — where you can pick winners on each match.

Karolina Pliskova vs. Iga Swiatek — Second Round

  • Pliskova – 3.7x payout | Swiatek – 1.23x payout

Amanda Anisimova vs. Sofia Kenin — Second Round

  • Anisimova – 1.11x payout | Kenin – 5.55x payout

Matteo Berrettini vs. Arthur Fils — Second Round

  • Berrettini – 2.77x payout | Fils – 1.38x payout

On PrizePicks Team Picks, a 2x payout represents a return of $200 on a $100 entry (or $20 on $10). A lower payout multiplier signals a higher implied probability of that result based on user picks.

Payouts are live at the time of writing and are subject to change. Tennis winner markets are available in 35 states.

Karolina Pliskova vs. Iga Swiatek Wimbledon Prediction — Thursday, July 2

Match Winner Payouts: Pliskova 3.7x | Swiatek 1.23x
Tournament Round: Second Round
2026 Record Entering Wimbledon: Pliskova 19-9 | Swiatek 21-11
Head-to-Head Record: Swiatek Leads 3-0
How to Watch: ESPN/ESPN App

Iga Swiatek is the defending Wimbledon champion, but she’s had an underwhelming season by her lofty standards, as she’s still searching for her first 2026 title. In fact, she hasn’t even reached a tournament final all year.

Perhaps that’s why Swiatek got emotional after gutting out a tougher-than-expected win over Taylor Townsend to open her title defense. Despite being a heavy favorite against Townsend, Iga was pushed to three sets by the American.

The road doesn’t necessarily get easier with two-time major finalist Karolina Pliskova awaiting her next.

Now 34 years old, Pliskova is working her way back from a devastating ankle injury at the 2024 US Open that sidelined her for a year. The damage was so severe that she had to relearn how to walk.

Under such circumstances, it’s unreasonable to expect Pliskova to regain the form that once made her world No. 1. Still, she’s amassed a 19-9 record this season, and that’s while competing primarily in WTA 1000 and WTA 500 events rather than low-level tournaments.

While Pliskova failed to qualify at the French Open, she got plenty of reps on grass before Wimbledon, going 5-2 at Queen’s Club and Nottingham. She performed well in her first-round match, too, defeating Tereza Valentova 6-3, 6-4 without being broken once.

However, despite those positives for Pliskova, she could still have trouble defeating Swiatek. The Czech player is 0-3 against Iga, winning just one set across those three meetings. Pliskova has also failed to advance past the second round at Wimbledon in her last three attempts after being a finalist in 2021.

Karolina Pliskova vs. Iga Swiatek Pick for Wimbledon on Thursday

Karolina vs. Swiatek Pick — 21 Total Games

This has historically been a strong surface for Pliskova, as she owns a 64.4% career win rate in tour-level grass matches.

Swiatek is just 11-10 against top-50 players in 2026. Despite Pliskova’s modest ranking (No. 73), Tennis Abstract’s Elo ratings place her 28th overall and 21st on grass.

Although Pliskova is 0-3 versus Swiatek, their last two matches have gone 25 and 21 total games.

Swiatek’s first-round match had lopsided sets on both sides (6-1, 2-6, 6-3), but it still went 24 total games.

Amanda Anisimova vs. Sofia Kenin Wimbledon Prediction — Thursday, July 2

Match Winner Payouts: Anisimova 1.11x | Kenin 5.55x
Tournament Round: Second Round
2026 Record Entering Wimbledon: Anisimova 14-8 | Kenin 4-16
Head-to-Head Record: Kenin Leads 2-1
How to Watch: ESPN/ESPN App

Amanda Anisimova finished runner-up at last year’s Wimbledon, but her incredible run is most remembered for a heartbreaking double bagel loss to Swiatek in the final. She undoubtedly would love to get another crack at the trophy.

The world No. 6 got off to a promising start to her 2026 campaign that included reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, but a wrist injury in the spring would cause her to miss all but the French Open during the clay-court swing. She also played only two grass-court matches ahead of Wimbledon, opting to rest in the United States rather than enter additional tournaments.

Perhaps the time off was a wise decision, though, as she kicked things off with a 6-3, 6-2 first-round victory over Lina Gjorcheska.

She’ll now face fellow American Sofia Kenin, whose disappointing season makes it easy to forget she won the 2020 Australian Open.

Before her first-round win, Kenin had four victories all season, enduring lengthy losing streaks for good chunks of the year. She came into Wimbledon on a three-match losing streak and had won only once in her last eight matches.

Despite Anisimova’s mid-season injury and recent light schedule, she looks like a deserving favorite against a player who hasn’t strung together consecutive wins all season.

Amanda Anisimova vs. Sofia Kenin Pick for Wimbledon on Thursday

Anisimova vs. Kenin Pick — 19.5 Total Games

Kenin played in the Wimbledon main draw six times before this year, and she advanced past the second round only once.

Per Tennis Abstract’s Elo ratings, Anisimova ranks 19th on grass while Kenin is 112th. Roughly 200 points separate the two, which would project a 76% win probability for Anisimova.

Anisimova boasts a 68.6% career tour-level win percentage on grass. Kenin has a 53.8% win rate in that split.

Matteo Berrettini vs. Arthur Fils Prediction for Wimbledon — Thursday, July 2

Match Winner Payouts: Berrettini 2.77x | Fils 1.38x
Tournament Round: Second Round
2026 Record Entering Wimbledon: Berrettini 12-10 | Fils 22-7
Head-to-Head Record: Fils Leads 1-0
How to Watch: ESPN/ESPN App

Before this Wimbledon, injuries had caused Arthur Fils to miss the last four majors dating back to last season.

Despite those setbacks, he’s been stellar when healthy in 2026, reaching at least the quarterfinals in Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Barcelona, and Madrid. Highlights include winning a title in Barcelona and finishing runner-up in Doha.

A hip injury in May caused him to miss this year’s French Open and the entire grass swing ahead of Wimbledon, but that didn’t stop the 22-year-old from picking up right where he left off, cruising to a straight-sets win (7-5, 6-1, 6-3) over Raphael Collignon in the first round.

Matteo Berrettini is no stranger to injuries, something that has plagued the 30-year-old for several years now. While he reached the quarterfinals at this year’s French Open — his best major finish since 2022 — a hip issue ultimately ended that run, too.

Berrettini was less convincing in his first-round win over the soon-to-be-retired Stan Wawrinka, an absurd 6-7(7), 7-6(16), 7-6(7), 7-6(5) slugfest that went four hours and 20 minutes.

There are clear health and fitness concerns for both players, but Fils could have youth and rest on his side.

Matteo Berrettini vs. Arthur Fils Pick for Wimbledon on Thursday

Berrettini vs. Fils Pick  — 39.5 Total Games

Per Tennis Abstract’s Elo ratings, Fils ranks 17th on grass while Berrettini is 24th. There is only a 37-point difference between the two players.

Grass has historically been Berrettini’s best surface, as he sports a 42-12 career record (77.8% win percentage) with four titles. While Fils is having a strong campaign, he doesn’t have a ton of grass experience in his career, owning a tidy 6-5 record.

Berrettini’s first-round match went 52 total games without reaching a fifth set.
