Serena Williams of the United States serves during a practice session ahead of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, in London, Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Our Wimbledon predictions for the top Day 2 afternoon matches Tuesday, June 30 include Serena Williams vs. Maya Joint, Stan Wawrinka vs. Matteo Berrettini, and Frances Tiafoe vs. Terence Atmane, including winner payouts and picks for PrizePicks.

The biggest story entering Tuesday’s matches will undoubtedly be the return of Serena Williams. The winner of 23 Grand Slams, including seven Wimbledon singles titles, will be playing her first singles match since 2022 — estimated to start at 2:30 p.m. ET on Center Court, but based on other matches.

Now 44 years old, there aren’t any real expectations for Serena entering the tournament, she likely wouldn’t be undertaking this comeback if she didn’t think she could be competitive.

Williams will face Maya Joint in the third match on Centre Court today. Could Serena add another chapter to her storied career?

Below, we’ll break down our Wimbledon predictions for Tuesday’s Day afternoon matches, including winner payouts, key stats, and match predictions for PrizePicks.

Wimbledon Predictions, Tennis Picks for Tuesday, June 30

Before we get into our Wimbledon predictions for Tuesday, June 30, here’s a quick look at the three matches we’re focusing on and the consensus favorites on PrizePicks Team Picks.

Serena Williams vs. Maya Joint — First Round

  • Williams – 2.08x payout | Joint – 1.66x

Stan Wawrinka vs. Matteo Berrettini — First Round

  • Wawrinka – 3.57x payout | Berrettini – 1.25x payout

Frances Tiafoe vs. Terence Atmane — First Round

  • Tiafoe – 1.2x payout | Atmane – 4x payout

On PrizePicks Team Picks, a 2x payout means the result will return $200 on a $100 entry (or $20 on $10). A lower payout multiplier signals a higher implied probability of that result based on user picks.

Payouts are live at the time of writing and are subject to change. Tennis winner markets are available in 35 states on PrizePicks Team Picks.

Serena Williams Prediction for Wimbledon vs. Maya Joint — Tuesday, June 30

Match Winner Payouts: Williams 2.08x payout | Joint 1.66x payout

Tournament Round: First Round

2026 Record Entering Wimbledon: Williams 0-0 | Joint 3-15

Head-to-Head Record: First meeting

How to Watch: ESPN and the ESPN App

Centre Court typically doesn’t feature a match between a wild card and a player ranked 87th, but we also typically don’t get wild cards with 23 major titles.

The most decorated women’s tennis player of all time, Serena Williams, has pretty much done it all, but this is uncharted territory even for her. The 44-year-old is more than twice the age of her 20-year-old opponent, and it’s been nearly four years since she last played a singles match at the 2022 US Open.

However, even with all the logical questions surrounding Serena’s form and fitness, she’s facing what looks to be a vulnerable opponent.

Following a promising 2025 campaign that helped Joint reach a career-high world No. 28 ranking early this season, it’s been a brutal 2026 pretty much from the start, with the losses piling up and a back injury causing her to miss two months during the spring.

The end result is a poor 3-15 record this year.

Given all the unknowns surrounding Williams, Joint is justifiably favored despite her brutal season. But perhaps the seven-time Wimbledon champ will have a chance to take advantage of a struggling opponent, particularly with the crowd likely behind her.

Serena Williams vs. Joint Pick for Wimbledon Day 2

Maya Joint — 14.5 Fantasy Score

Of Joint’s three wins, two came in January (one via an early retirement), and the other was a WTA 125 win in early June. She’s lost three straight matches since that last victory (two on grass), all against opponents ranked outside the top 50.

This will be just the second time Joint has played in the Wimbledon main draw. She lost in straight sets to Liudmila Samsonova in her main-draw debut last season.

Despite having a breakthrough campaign in 2025, it didn’t result in Grand Slam success for Joint. She’s 2-7 in major main draws, with both wins coming at the US Open.

Stan Wawrinka vs. Matteo Berrettini for Wimbledon — Tuesday, June 30

Match Winner Payouts: Wawrinka 3.57x | Berrettini 1.25x

Tournament Round: First Round

2026 Record Entering Wimbledon: Wawrinka 7-12 | Berrettini 12-10

Head-to-Head Record: First Career Meeting

How to Watch: ESPN and the ESPN App

Stan Wawrinka announced earlier this year that this will be his final season on the ATP Tour, so this will almost certainly be his last time competing at Wimbledon.

The 41-year-old once competed for Grand Slam titles against the “Big Three,” and no one can take away the three majors he won in his prime. However, the reality is he’s long been a shell of the player he once was, and Wimbledon has always been his weakest major.

Since being a back-to-back Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2014 and 2015, Wawrinka advanced past the second round once in the seven tries since.

Wawrinka draws a difficult first-round matchup against Matteo Berrettini. Injuries have derailed Berrettini for a good chunk of his career, but he’s coming off a quarterfinals appearance at the French Open, his best result at a major since 2022.

Fittingly, even that run ended in Berrettini retiring due to a hip injury, so it’s fair to wonder how long he’ll be able to hold up here.

The good news for Berrettini is he’s now had several weeks to recover, and he’s a lethal player on grass when healthy, carrying a career 77.8% win percentage. The Italian was a Wimbledon finalist in 2021, showing how high his ceiling can be when his body allows it.

Per Tennis Abstract’s Elo ratings, Berrettini is projected for a 74.7% win probability.

Wawrinka vs. Berrettini Pick for Wimbledon Day 2

Wawrinka vs. Berrettini — 41.5 Total Games

Wawrinka has won just half his career matches on grass. This is in contrast to him carrying a 62.3% win rate on clay and a 60.8% win rate on hard courts. All 16 of his career titles have come on clay and hard courts.

This will also be Wawrinka’s first grass match since 2024 Wimbledon.

Dating back to the start of 2025, Wawrinka is 2-16 versus top-50 opponents. Berrettini is the world No. 51 and achieved a career-high ranking of No. 6 in 2022.

Frances Tiafoe vs. Terence Atmane Prediction for Wimbledon — Tuesday, June 30

Match Winner Payouts: Tiafoe 1.2x | Atmane 4x
Tournament Round: First Round
2026 Record Entering Wimbledon: Tiafoe 29-12 | Atmane 11-16
Head-to-Head Record: Tiafoe Leads 2-0
How to Watch: ESPN and the ESPN App

Among the Grand Slams, it’s no secret Frances Tiafoe typically saves his best performances for the US Open. However, Tiafoe is fresh off a solid fourth-round showing at the French Open, and he transitioned that to a promising run on grass, where he went on to win the title at Halle.

Two of Tiafoe’s four career titles have now come on grass, and his win percentage is actually the highest on this surface (59.6%). He’s made the fourth round only once at Wimbledon (2022), but maybe he has the form to go a bit further in 2026?

On the other hand, Terence Atmane is trending in the opposite direction. Atmane is 1-7 over his last eight matches across all levels. He could have a tough time turning things around versus Tiafoe, who’s 2-0 against him in 2026 alone.

Tennis Abstract’s Elo ratings are showing an 87.2% chance for a Tiafoe victory.

Tiafoe vs. Atmane Pick for Wimbledon Day 2

Tiafoe vs. Atmane — 39.5 Total Games

Atmane has never won a main-draw match in a major, and this will be his first such match at Wimbledon. He’s 1-3 on grass this season, and those are the only tour-level grass matches of his career.

Tiafoe lost only one set in his title run at Halle, and he defeated three different top-10 opponents in Flavio Cobolli, Felix Auger Aliassime, and Taylor Fritz.

Overall, Tiafoe is 7-1 on grass courts this season, and he’s been particularly effective on serve, winning 71.4% of his service points. For context, the average amongst the top 50 players tends to hover between 67-68% on grass.
