Jesper de Jong vs. Joao Fonseca — Second Round
- De Jong – 4.76x payout | Fonseca – 1.14x payout
Stefanos Tsitsipas vs. Novak Djokovic — Second Round

Jesper de Jong vs. Joao Fonseca Wimbledon Prediction — Wednesday, July 1
Match Winner Payouts: De Jong 4.76x | Fonseca 1.14x
Tournament Round: Second Round
2026 Record Entering Wimbledon: De Jong 4-9 | Fonseca 14-11
Head-to-Head Record: De Jong Leads, 1-0
How to Watch: ESPN/ESPN App
Joao Fonseca was having a somewhat unremarkable 2026 season, but that all changed at the French Open, as the 19-year-old advanced to his first-ever major quarterfinal.
His run included wins over Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud, so it’s not like he had a cupcake draw to get there.
There were some question marks entering Wimbledon after Fonseca withdrew from Eastbourne due to a shoulder issue, leaving the Brazilian with just one grass tune-up match (a loss at Halle).
However, Fonseca looked fully fit and dangerous in his straight-sets first-round victory over Roberto Bautista Agut.
Jesper de Jong is also coming off a strong showing at the French Open, where he advanced to the fourth round as a lucky loser. But even with that positive stretch, he’s just 4-9 in tour-level matches this season and has spent much of the year competing in Challenger events.
Further, he’s competed solely in clay events since March and didn’t play a single grass match before Wimbledon. That’s notable considering De Jong has only one win across six career tour-level grass matches.

Jesper de Jong vs. Joao Fonseca Pick for Wimbledon on Wednesday
De Jong vs. Fonseca — 3.5 Total Sets
Over his career, De Jong is not only 1-5 in tour-level grass matches, but he’s 6-12 across all levels.
The Dutch player is also 2-11 versus top-20 opponents. Fonseca comes in as the world No. 27, and he ranks 16th in Elo rating, per Tennis Abstract.
While De Jong was able to gut out a win against Rinky Hijikata in the first round, it took five sets across two days after getting suspended on Monday due to darkness. He’ll effectively be playing three days in a row, giving Fonseca a rest advantage.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs. Novak Djokovic Wimbledon Prediction — Wednesday, July 1
Match Winner Payouts: Tsitsipas 5x | Djokovic 1.14x
Tournament Round: Second Round
2026 Record Entering Wimbledon: Tsitsipas 16-14 | Djokovic 9-4
Head-to-Head Record: Djokovic Leads, 12-2
How to Watch: ESPN/ESPN App
It’s no secret that the Grand Slams are all 39-year-old Novak Djokovic really cares about now, and a Wimbledon draw sans-Carlos Alcaraz might be the best chance he ever gets at winning that 25th major title.
As shown by his 9-4 record, he hasn’t played a ton of matches this season due to a shoulder injury in the spring, and this is just his fifth event in 2026.
Djokovic elected to skip any warm-up grass events, but that’s something he’s done for many years now, as he hasn’t played in a non-Wimbledon grass tournament since 2018. He had to navigate a tricky first-round match against Yibing Wu, but ultimately prevailed in four sets.
With a grass match now under his belt, he now faces an opponent he’s beaten many times: Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Although Tsitsipas hasn’t faced Novak since 2024, he has a poor 2-12 career record against the Serbian. Worse yet, those two wins came a long time ago in 2019 and 2018.
Once a consistent contender in Grand Slams, Tsitsipas is coming off an injury-marred 2025 campaign and has struggled to find consistency this season, entering Wimbledon with a 16-14 record. This is historically one of his weaker majors, too, as he’s never reached the quarterfinals.

Tsitsipas vs. Novak Djokovic Wimbledon Pick for Wednesday, July 1
Novak Djokovic Pick — 27 Fantasy Score
Note: In PrizePicks tennis fantasy scoring, players earn 10 points to start (match played), games won/lost are +1/-1, sets won/lost at +3/-3, aces are 0.5, while double faults count for -0.5.
Djokovic has an 11-match win streak against Tsitsipas. Over that span, he’s won in straight sets seven times.
Grass is easily Tsitsipas’ worst surface, with a mediocre 23-20 career record (53.5% win percentage). None of his 14 matches against Djokovic have come on the surface.
According to Tennis Abstract’s Elo ratings, Novak ranks as the tour’s fourth-best on grass, whereas Stefanos is 48th.
Tatjana Maria vs. Iva Jovic Prediction for Wimbledon — Wednesday, July 1
Match Winner Payouts: Maria 3.12x | Jovic 1.31x
Tournament Round: Second Round
2026 Record Entering Wimbledon: Maria 18-21 | Jovic 26-13
Head-to-Head Record: First Career Meeting
How to Watch: ESPN/ESPN App
Iva Jovic entered the event coming off a semifinal appearance at Queen’s Club, a positive sign after she failed to advance past the first round as a qualifier at last year’s Wimbledon.
Jovic certainly got off on the right foot in the first round, taking out Jaqueline Cristian (7-6(1), 6-0). She faced only two break points the entire match, and neither one was converted.
Despite being just 18 years old, Jovic is already proving to be capable on the big stage this year, reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and then making the third round at the French Open.
Tatjana Maria may not have an impressive overall record, but grass is her best surface. She amassed a 10-4 record across all levels this grass season, and most notably reached the final at Eastbourne before falling to Madison Keys.
While the 38-year-old is 20 years older than Jovic and has generally performed poorly in Grand Slams, she could give her opponent trouble if she continues to play as she has over the past month. Maria won the title at Queen’s Club last season, and she was even a surprise semifinalist at Wimbledon in 2022.

Tatjana Maria vs. Iva Jovic Pick for Wimbledon on Wednesday
Tatjana Maria Pick – 10.5 Total Games Won
While Maria has a losing career record on other surfaces, she owns a respectable 54.7% win rate in tour-level grass matches.
The German is also 9-6 against top-20 opponents on grass, showing she’s occasionally capable of rising to the occasion against tougher competition on this specific surface.
Jovic is still relatively inexperienced playing on grass. This is just her second time competing in the Wimbledon main draw and her fourth grass tournament at any level as a professional.
