Tulsa vs. Oklahoma State Prediction, Preview for 9/19/25
The Golden Hurricane and Cowboys are coming off of blowout losses last week.
Both teams have won one game this season, each beating an FCS team, so a victory on Friday will be a nice confidence boost before conference play gears up.
Tulsa Golden Hurricane
- The Golden Hurricane finished last season at 3-9, and their current 1-2 record doesn't exactly inspire hope for '25.
- Following a rout of Abilene Christian in the opener, Tulsa fell to New Mexico State on the road and dropped a 19-point decision to Navy last week.
- Since 2010, Tulsa has lost all seven matchups with Oklahoma State, capped off by a 45-10 beatdown at home last season.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
- The Cowboys won their first three games of 2024, highlighted by that 35-point rout of Tulsa.
- Mike Gundy’s team closed the 2024 season with nine consecutive losses and has started 1-1 in 2025.
- After beating Tennessee-Martin in Week 1, Oklahoma State was taken down by Oregon, 69-3 two weeks ago. In that rout, the Ducks limited the Cowboys to 211 yards of offense and 9 first downs.
Tulsa vs. Oklahoma State Picks & CFB DFS
Oklahoma State QB Zane Flores vs. Tulsa Projection: 215.5 Passing Yards
- Eugene, Oregon is beautiful in the fall, but it was an ugly sight for Flores and Oklahoma State. Losing by 66 points is humiliating on any front, but Flores threw for 67 yards and Oregon scored 69 points.
- Flores is finally getting an opportunity after redshirting his first two seasons, and you can be certain he's shooting for a turnaround Oregon debacle. However, he faces a Tulsa team that ranks fourth in college football with a defensive score of 91.9, as per PFF.
- Tulsa allowed 252 passing yards to New Mexico State before giving up 94 passing yards to a run-heavy Navy offense last week.
- Flores has yet to eclipse 136 passing yards, which he reached in the opening victory over Abilene Christian.
Tulsa RB Dominic Richardson vs. Oklahoma State Projection: 64.5 Rushing Yards
- After spending his first three seasons at Oklahoma State, the senior busted out for 142 yards in his Golden Hurricane debut against Abilene Christian.
- He put together a solid 93-yard effort in a 21-14 defeat to New Mexico State, but dipped to 61 yards against Navy on 13 carries.
- Oklahoma State ranks 62nd in the country in rushing defense, with a PFF grade of 79.8.
- Tulsa sits 55th in offensive rushing, with Richardson receiving the majority of the carries.
Tulsa WR Zion Booker vs. Oklahoma State Projection: 42.5 Receiving Yards
- Booker has been the centerpiece of the Golden Hurricane passing attack this season, drawing at least 9 targets in each of the first three games.
- The junior is coming off his top performance of the season, hauling in 90 yards on 8 receptions in a 42-23 home setback to Navy.
- In all three games this season, Booker has eclipsed the projection listed for Friday night.
- In the opener against Abilene Christian, he compiled 67 yards, followed by a 57-yard output in the loss at New Mexico State.
- In eight games last season at Western Carolina, Booker pulled in 39 receptions. He already has 23 catches this season in three games.
- Oklahoma State allowed four Oregon receivers to post at least 46 yards last week and one receiver to put up 45 yards in the opener against UT-Martin
