The 2025 college football season is over, with Indiana completing a perfect 16-0 season behind Heisman winner Francisco Mendoza.
The Miami native was a transfer from California, winning the award in his first year at Indiana. Mendoza, along with runner-up, Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia, and third-place finisher, Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love, will all be in the NFL next season, leaving Ohio State QB Julian Sayin as the top vote getter coming back.
As we turn the page to 2026, Texas QB Arch Manning, who was the favorite heading into the 2025 season, is once again at the top of the Heisman favorites boards.
Let's sift through these 2026 players that are favored to win the Heisman next season, and break down the possible payouts for each player’s Heisman Futures on PrizePicks Team Picks, where you can pick on Heisman Trophy futures and earn money if you're right in 30+ states!

#3: Gunner Stockton, Georgia QB
Heisman Trophy Winner Payout via PrizePicks Team Picks: 9.09x - Yes
Having a veteran QB on a national title contender is never a bad thing, and that’s what you are getting with Georgia QB Gunner Stockton. Known mostly for taking over for Carson Beck, who transferred to Miami before the 2025 season, Stockton will enter his second full season as the man behind center in Athens.
In his first campaign as the Bulldogs starter, Stockton was 25th in the country with a 150.59 passer rating, throwing for just under 3,000 yards and 24 passing TDs to 5 INTs.
But what really was impressive about Stockton this past season was his dual-threat abilities, running for 10 TDs, which led the Bulldogs and was tied for sixth among all SEC players.
And he stepped up in big games, recording 5 total TDs in the first meeting against Ole Miss and another 5 vs. ninth-ranked Texas. In five games vs. top-15 teams, Stockton had 19 combined TDs and 1 INT.
With a 2026 schedule that includes Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss, Stockton will have the platform to earn the award.

#2: Malachi Toney, Miami WR
Heisman Trophy Winner Payout via PrizePicks Team Picks: 10x Yes
One could argue that there wasn’t another freshman who had as big an impact on the 2025 CFB season as Miami’s 18-year-old WR Malachi Toney.
After reclassifying to join the Hurricanes early, Toney — instead of doing high school things like homecoming and prom — led the nation with 109 receptions, setting a Hurricanes’ team record and ACC Freshman record.
He was named the ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year, and received First-team All-ACC recognition for his all-purpose contributions.
Beyond the 109 catches and 1,211 receiving yards, Toney passed for two TDs, ran for another, and had another 300+ punt return yards. He was an all-purpose threat who lined up all over the field, helping Miami to the CFP national championship game.
In the four playoff games, Toney had 35 catches for 241 yards and 3 TDs. With a year under his belt and the Hurricanes back to national prominence, Toney has a chance to become just the third WR in the last 30 years to win the award.
#1: Trinidad Chambliss, Ole Miss QB
Heisman Trophy Winner Payout via PrizePicks Team Picks: 10x - Yes
With the caveat that Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss wins his appeal with the NCAA and gets another year of eligibility, he is a favorite to win the Heisman next season.
Chambliss took over as Ole Miss in Week 3 of the season, yet still threw for 3,937 yards, the third most in the country, and the most in the SEC. He added 527 yards and 8 TDs on the group, a true dual-threat QB.
Just as important as his stats, Chambliss led the Rebels to wins in nine of 10 regular-season games and to wins in the first two rounds of the College Football playoff before losing in the closing seconds of the national semifinal to Miami.
If he’s back next season and plays all 12 games, leading the Rebels back to the CFP and possibly an SEC title, he could be the frontrunner to win Ole Miss’ first Heisman.
