The Trail Blazers are 3.5-point road favorites on Friday evening, via PrizePicks. Portland is 3-0 in the preseason, which included a trip to London. The Trail Blazers landed in the win column against the Warriors earlier this month and most recently topped the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Golden State has a 3-2 preseason record and defeated the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. The Warriors have won three of their four games at the Chase Center throughout the preseason.

The Warriors will begin the 2026-26 season hoping to return to the NBA postseason after finishing ninth and falling short in the Play-In Tournament. Head coach Steve Kerr signed a two-year contract to return to the Warriors after his previous deal had expired following the 2025-26 campaign.

Injuries heavily affected Golden State a season ago, with F Jimmy Butler and G Stephen Curry both missing significant time. Butler tore his ACL in January and missed the remainder of the season.

With a more veteran-laden group, Kerr has been very strategic with minutes for the Warriors’ more experienced players in the preseason. However, Curry still appeared in four of the team’s five preseason games, averaging 16.5 minutes per game, and scored 11 points on 3-of-9 shooting against Los Angeles in a preseason-high 23 minutes.

The Warriors will be without Butler for the foreseeable future, as he continues to work his way back from a torn ACL. In a Wednesday interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, Butler said he didn’t want to announce a target return date but will “be back out there” as soon as he can compete.

The Trail Blazers have a new look backcourt this season. Portland acquired G Ja Morant in an offseason trade that sent F Jerami Grant and F Kris Murray to the Memphis Grizzlies. Plus, G Damian Lillard is back in the fold after he sat out last season to rehabilitate a torn Achilles tendon.

Morant has appeared in all three preseason games, shooting 45.0% from the field. He had his best performance against the Kings on Tuesday, scoring 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting while also dishing out 6 assists.

Friday’s contest gives Morant one final chance to get more comfortable playing within Portland’s offense. However, it’s unclear how much Morant and other Trail Blazers’ starters will play in the preseason finale.
