The NBA trade deadline is a month away, and Hawks PG Trae Young is one of the biggest names currently headlining in the NBA trade rumor mill. On Monday, it was reported that Young and his agents are working with the Hawks on a trade.

Now, Trae Young is currently the most likely player to be traded before the deadline, per PrizePicks Team Picks payouts, alongside Wizards SG CJ McCollum. According to Shams Charania, Young is in his "final days" with the Hawks, as he doesn't fit with the team anymore.

Let’s dig into some possible trade destinations for Young if he were to be dealt by Atlanta, including mock trades, plus the reak money payouts for NBA Futures on PrizePicks Team Picks for a potential Trae Young trade.

With PrizePicks Team Picks, you can get in on who you think will be traded in the "NBA Futures" section, and earn real money if you're right. Payouts from NBA Player Futures are live as of the time of this publishing, but are subject to change.

Best Trae Young Trade Destinations & Mock Trades

Here are three potential trade destinations for Young, as well as a mock trade for each potential landing spot, including the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, and Washington Wizards.

All trades were run through the NBA Trade Machine on ESPN.

Destination #1: Washington Wizards

One team that appears to be in hunt for Young to be their next PG is the Wizards, despite their 9-25 record. The Wizards are currently the favorites to be Young's next team on PrizePicks.

According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, the Wizards are a potential trade destination for Young, and the deal would be centered around the Hawks receiving CJ McCollum.

The Wizards are looking for a star to build their franchise around, so Young would fit that mold. McCollum has an expiring contract, so while he would help the Hawks now for their playoff push, he would also create some payroll flexibility for them following the season.

Trae Young Mock Trade Proposal for Wizards Trade

  • Wizards acquire Young
  • Hawks acquire SG CJ McCollum, Wizards G/F Justin Champagnie, Wizards G AJ Johnson, and Wizards F/C Anthony Gill.

In this mock trade, the Hawks gain the payroll flexibility that comes with McCollum’s expiring contract, as well as two young players with upside in Champagnie and Johnson.

Champagnie has shot 48.5% from the field and 35.0% from behind the arc for his career. Johnson was selected with the 23rd pick in the 2024 Draft and averaged 7.6 points during his rookie season.

#2: Dallas Mavericks

With Mavericks PG Kyrie Irving (knee) yet to play this season, the team has been searching for answers at point guard. Both Brandon Williams and Ryan Nembhard have shown flashes of promise, but neither has been a consistent source of production.

Young would not only fill the starting point guard spot for the Mavs, but he would form a dynamic duo with Mavericks star rookie Cooper Flagg.

The question is, would Dallas send PF/C Anthony Davis to the Hawks in a trade for Young? And do the Hawks even want the often-injured big man?

Trae Young Mock Trade Proposal for Mavericks:

  • Mavericks acquire Young and Hawks G/F Vit Krejci
  • Hawks acquire Anthony Davis

In our mock trade, the Hawks take a chance on Anthony Davis staying healthy and changing the dynamic of their defense.

In addition to getting Young in the deal, the Mavs would also receive an intriguing young player in Krejci, who is averaging career highs in points (10.6) and three-pointers (2.7) per game this season. For his career, Krejci has shot 41.9% from deep.

#3: Toronto Raptors

The Raptors are loaded with wings. In addition to G/F Brandon Ingram, F Scottie Barnes, and G/F RJ Barrett, they have youngsters G/F Gradey Dick and F Collin Murray-Boyles.

They aren’t exactly lacking at point guard, either, with PG Immanuel Quickley leading the way. He has averaged 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game.

As good as Quickley has been, acquiring Young would be an upgrade for the Raptors at the point. The possibility of Young playing alongside Ingram and Barnes is tantalizing. Given the depth that the Raptors have, they also have several players who could interest the Hawks in a trade.

Trae Young Mock Trade Proposal for Raptors:

  • Raptors acquire Trae Young
  • Hawks acquire SG/SF RJ Barrett, SG Gradey Dick, G Jamal Shead, and G/F Ochai Agbaji.

Barrett doesn’t grab a lot of headlines, but he is on pace to average at least 19.0 points for the fourth straight season. He could help offset some of the scoring that the Hawks would lose by trading Young.

Dick has yet to live up to the hype that came with being the 13th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, but he did average 14.4 points and 2.1 three-pointers over 29 minutes per game last season. He could provide a nice scoring punch off the bench for Atlanta.
